This play centre is OK but is in desperate need of a good scrub. Sticky floors, sticky/dirty mats, layers of dust in areas you can't get to (no big deal but not good impression management).
If it wasn't so gross I'd go back! The big frame is good and has a small area for younger children. Good slides. Would say essential for parent to go with under 4s/5s when exploring big frame, particularly when busy.

Beautiful old cinema, however, now operates under 3 buisness, tanning salon, kids play school and one cinema screen, amazing price to watch a film, however that's no suprise... Not recommended for the English faternity as staff don't welcome then at all.... Security guards are clowns and appears that Holyhead wants Welsh independence from the uk

Thank you for taking the time to write this review – obviously we, and our valued customers, won't be taking it seriously due to the complete fabrications contained within it. And, just for clarification, the tanning studio is not part of our business even though it’s in the same building.

Very enjoyable cinema, always nice and clean.
Great prices for all shows BUT if you go on a Wednesday the tickets are only £2.50 ...amazing price.
A good night out to see a film without having to travel off the Island, staff are nice and polite and they have a good selection of crisps, drinks and snacks in the kiosk.
Very well worth a visit and films are up to date for children and adults.

I am happy that the cinema is open but I do think that there needs to be some minor improvements to encourage people to use the Empire rather than travel to Llandudno. I have been to the Empire quite a few times since the re-furbishment and always had the same issues.
My first choice will always be Llandudno, Cineworld. Okay - more expensive (by far), ripped off on the popcorn and the drinks, the journey in the summer months can be hell. I use the Empire for spur of the moment - 'Let's go to the pictures' days. After going to see the new Avengers there yesterday I think it will be my last visit for a while.

Plus points - It's cheap. The tickets are cheap, the snacks are cheap. I do take this into account with the issues and with a family of 5 a Movie day at Llandudno can be £50+.
It's Local. 10 minute drive & parking is normally okay.

Negative Points - It's cramped, and I mean really cramped. Within 10 minutes of being sat down yesterday I was aching, really aching. I am 6' tall, tried to book seats with leg room but non available. Even my 10 yr old was complaining. Front row has more leg room but the screen is so close you would crick your neck. The seats are also incredibly close together. I was actually in pain by the time the film finished. The guy sat next to me yesterday kept brushing my leg everytime he got his drink from the holder, kept apologising and then after about 20 minutes ended up trying to juggle his freezing slushy in his hands for the rest of the film.
It's also noisy. I don't know why & I've only ever experienced this in the Empire but people seem to think they can talk, let their phones go off & allow their children to run up & down the aisle, scream & cry without anyone doing anything about it (all happened yesterday and on previous visits). One movie watcher even shouted to one parent to take it (the child that was creating) out. I wanted to applaud but would have disrupted the movie more! Any other cinema you go to the usher would have been in straight away to deal with this but not at Holyhead. It's ignored.

I left yesterday after missing quite a bit of the dialogue towards the end due to unruly children and remembering why it's been 3 months since my previous visit. Still aching today!

So - Great value for money but you have to equate this to being incredibly uncomfortable and being disrupted.

I know a lot of money was spent on the re-furb but surely a few of the issues could be ironed out? Talking to friends I know that quite a few of them don't use our local cinema for these reasons.

After being a regular visitor to the old cinema prior to the refurb. I was looking forward to going to see films at empire but unfortunately twice now I have been disappointed due to the heat it gets so hot and unbearable to watch a film to the end. I walked out this last time.

Just visited the cinema for the first time. Simple online booking pleasant helpful staff £5 for seats compared with £9 in Llandudno and less travelling. Clean and comfortable there are seats at the back for those who need extra leg room perhaps there should be more seats like these but well done Holyhead council for taking it over I hope it gets the support it deserves.

Fantastic little cinema. Friendly staff, good films, comfortable and clean. Great night out on a budget and no need to drive off the island! Such a brilliant cinema, I hope it continues to be well supported and does well.

a terrible cinema. I was looking forward to visiting as I was so upset when the old cinema closed. Cinema looks great but the seats are terrible! I'm only 5'3" but I didn't have enough room to sit with my legs in front of me! The only ones who could sit comfortably were the children. My son at 5'9" had to sit sideways. Surely there is a law about having enough room to be able to sit comfortably? I will never visit again after this experience today.

Cheap entry fee. Most of it toddler friendly. However the seating area is very crammed and needs to be a lot more spacious. Also would be ideal if the "cafe" sold more than just drinks and a few chocolate bars and sweets for example light snacks and refreshments.
