What a wonderful small museum to visit. There was so much to see and there were a few people there to talk to you about the items on display or to tell you information about amything to do with the coast guard. I was very excited to find a postcard there with a steamship on it which one of my ancestors had served on when he was in the navy in the 1800's. They also have a very small Military Museum separate to the Maritime Museum.

Found this friendly little museum by happy accident, and as it wasn't too busy I received a personal tour of the exhibits from knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you're visiting Holyhead, it's a must-see stop!

The Holyhead maritime museum is well worth a visit. The museum is full of model boats and artifacts akin to Holyhead. The museum guide is always on hand to give you any information about the museum. During our visit the museum guide opened the second world war bomb shelter which is full of memorabillia. After our visit we visited the bistro in the museum and enjoyed an coffee and tea which overlooks the stunning views of Holyhead harbour. Ticket prices are a bargain £5.00 adults, £4.50 oap and free for under 16s.

Worth every penny of the 5gbp entry fee. Crammed with artifacts and information. What makes it special is the personal stories. Make sure to see the air raid shelter as well. Great guide with lots of information.
