Fell upon this little Museum having parked in the carpark which is just along the road. I only had a quick look in as we were off to eat in the town but would definitely return for a more indepth look and recommend anyone into the history of Llangollen. Lots of information, books and films to watch. Very interesting place!

This museum is run by volunteers and is free entry. There was much interesting display material supported by two audio visual presentations, both of which were a little over long. Worth a visit!

there is an upstairs gallery - as far as I could see, only accessible by stairs - with work by local artists.

Cracking little free local history museum, good and old fashioned but well worth popping by to escape the tourist throng and taking a trip back in time. Well laid out and full of Llangollen town and wider community history, good to see period artefacts and also revolving contemporary art exhibitions in this compact and intriguing museum. Friendly and knowledgable staff, with good range of second hand local history/railway books for sale along with unusual gifts and other ephemera!

We called in on our weekend away, the museum has a lot of information about the history of the town, largely war related. It's free to enter but worth making a donation to. The gift shop has a lot of merchandise on offer. Well worth a visit.

A nice little place, some nice things to look at, we didn’t get much time in as the little one was unsettled however next time I hope to see a little more. From what I saw and what we missed there is a nice bit of history in here, definitely worth checking out to pass a little time

We came across this little tucked away museum whilst visiting Llangollen for the afternoon. It’s free entry and full of interesting facts, history and interactives. There’s also a small themed corner to entertain children (including themed dress up) which my daughter absolutely loved.

There was a very friendly lady who worked there who was just a delight. She was so helpful, enthusiastic and a pleasure to meet.

Finally, there was plenty of little trinkets, books and other interesting things to purchase at really low prices.

Overall, a fabulous place to stop by and most definitely worth a visit.

This only a small building, but it has what a visitor needs. We quite liked the avatar of a monk quietly scribbling away with his quill – mostly because we couldn’t decide whether our two young grandchildren would be intrigued or perhaps a little frightened by it. There’s also an associated 3D animation film about the local abbey that we quite enjoyed; and the small exhibition on the upper floor was interesting too.
We were the only visitors who sat through a 45-minute film about the area, but – if you’d like to learn more about the area and its history – this provided a good introduction. If you watch the film in its entirety, then you’ll need to factor that into the duration of your visit, which would then take it to over an hour. But, if you just want a brief look around, a visit won’t take up much of your time.
