This is a good viewpoint and popular photo spot for views of the river, corn mill and railway station.

It was just a pity that when I visited, the bridge was covered in cloth panels. I overheard someone describing it as looking like washing day.

These are part of a new artwork 'Bridges not Walls' . Quoting from the information panel on the bridge , this is a first commission in Wales for the internationally renowned Luke Jerram, known for his art installations around the world. It is part of the International Music Eisteddfod which is returning this year.

The bridge is covered with over on hundred fabric panels made by the local community and others around the world. Looking closely, they have all been machine sewn (and not very well at times). Also several panels are beginning to come unstitched and beginning to look tatty.

It might have been a good idea on paper but in practice look tacky and distracts from the beauty of the bridge.

The view of the river, and at night, especially from the Deeside restaurant! Beautiful to see both river and Heritage Railway side by side. A classic steam loco and carriages. Always a good visit!

I live relatively close to Llangollen and the views you get from the bridge are spectacular. Lovely town with nice little places to eat. Made the mistake of visiting yesterday (Easter Saturday) and so did everyone else apparently. The weather was lovely but it was just too busy. Nothing worse than inconsiderate dog owners who big pavements and force families to walk in the road though!

The view of the river from the bridge is fantastic. The river can change from calm to total rapids, which I find totally exciting to watch, I have even seen them white water canoeing down there in the past but don't know if thats still done. There are lots of photo opportunities as the shape of the bridge allows you to get close for your shot. I would fully recommend it if your the type who loves watching rapids.

Had a lovely day in Langollen, had a walk along the river and spent time in the children s play park with our grand daughter. Spent time in the town bargain hunting, and stopped for a coffee and snack.
We have been to Llangollen on many occasions and love it every time.
Twp other attractions you must visit are the aqueduct at Trevor, and the horseshoe falls by the chain bridge inn.

This seems to be a focal point in the town where the bridge is situated to take photos of the rapids in the river Dee.

Pretty bridge with the raging river passing through it’s arches. It’s best feature are the views it offers, up and down stream, of the railway station, and the hills surrounding the town.

As you walk down from the car park to the station, just after the war memorial you cross this bridge, from which you get the first glance of the station and the steam train but your eyes are drawn into the river weir.

There is something about moving water weirs and steam trains
