The multi-lingual Welsh-speaking lady working here yesterday (Wednesday) who had come from a different branch was so very helpful. Not only did she help me find the bookshop in Conwy I wanted, for example, but she also really made my day by letting me speak to her in my basic Welsh for a short while (as the TIC was quiet at the time). She was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. My short stay in Wales was really good, thanks to this lady and a couple of other people who were so thoughtful and kind.
Later in the day I bought a small item from the TIC, as I was so grateful for her help. The TIC was very busy then and I noticed that she dealt with people's queries and comments in a very professional, empathetic way.
Oh, and I also want to thank Tom who was exceptionally helpful answering my email enquiry before my visit to the area.
Diolch (= thank you).
With regard to the toilets, I discovered in both Conwy and in Llandudno that is useful to have coins on you, ideally smaller coins. (Hadn't used coins for two years, due to the covid situation!) You definitely need cash/notes for certain things. Decided to buy a postcard at a (not TIC) nearby shop, to get some change, though I think the very kind lady was offering to give me smaller change, but I did not think that was fair, so still bought the postcard. Beware: if you are going into the main ladies, you don't insert money until you are just outside the cubicle. I wrongly assumed that the main door would not open till I put in a coin, so I lost 30p there, and had to pay another 30p for the cublcle. Sily me. However (whisper), I found a pound coin inside the cubicle!

One of the plus points of visiting Wales is a welcome here , not here. No acknowledgment of us just the cashier / assistant carried on reading his paper. No attempt to sell Conwy to us, or to sell any of its many charms. There was very little information on display, and we were ignored - a real contrast to what we found in the rest of this lovely town.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our centre, we really appreciate the time it takes to do so and welcome all comments both positive and negative. The Conwy Tourist Information Centre (across the road from the Castle Car Park in the red brick building) have quite a wide range of free leaflets and information on display as well as saleable maps, books and local produce. The Visitor Centre (a shop next to the train station) has very little in the way of information as they are just a shop. We are sorry on this occasion your were disappointed with our service.
If you would like to make an official complaint, please get in touch with your name, contact details and comments. Please send it though to llandudnotic@conwy.gov.uk.
We look forward to welcoming you to the town again in the future.
Kindest regards,
TIC Supervisor

Tourist rubbish served by ignorant staff.......go to the excellent tourist information centre down the road towards the castle on the opposite side of the eroad where there are motivated informed and helpful staff and there is a very good display on the history of North Wales.

DO NOT visit here, my younger brother was looking at a wallet for £6.99 that he was going to buy, and put a note in it to check that it fit in okay - the whole time 'Gunther' was staring and watching over us. As we walked over to the till, he referred to my brother as "son, son" and kept repeating it until my brother turned around. He made my brother pass him the wallet from the display stand and he proceeded to "check it for damage because he had been looking at it" my parents were in shock and asked why he needed to check it; Gunther was being horrible and looking down on us the whole time, he repeated that he "had to check the wallet" (and didn't give us a real explanation) just because my brother had been looking at it - how does he expect to make a sale if people can't look at / touch the items in the shop? My dad also had some boxes that he was about to purchase but Gunther's disrespectful behaviour instantly made us not want to buy anything else from there.
My dad said as we were walking out "you have just lost two sales" to which Gunther replied "ooh £5" as though he wasn't interested in any sales from the likes of us (our purchases were actually £12 but this is not the point). As I work in a retail shop myself I do not know how he had the cheek to treat a customer like that, and I would never treat a customer the way he treated us, we will NOT be visiting here again.

Does anybody actually read these reviews? Obviously not, because there are several reviews about how horrible, nasty and rude 'Gunther' is, and yet he still works there. We decided to pay our second visit there to see if his attitude had improved, and low and behold: it hadn't.
The whole time we were in the shop he was watching us, waiting for something to happen. To his delight my brother accidentally dropped one of the cheap quality, overpriced bric a brac items and 'Gunther' shouted over saying 'broken?' 'Are you sure?' If my brother had broken it, he would have taken it to the counter and paid for the damage, not just place it back on the shelf. The ornament was fine, yet after last time my parents were not standing for 'Gunther' speaking to their son as he had done last time we visited.
We all proceeded to tell him he was a horrible, obnoxious and nasty person and asked if he had read the reviews on this shop, as many of them state how rude he is. Gunter admitted he had read these reviews and said it was great being horrible to customers, so Hi Gunther I hope you enjoy this review!

I live in the Conwy area but always go into here to enquire about actives taking place in the surrounding area. Plenty of information on display and the people who run the place are very approachable and informative them selves. This has to be your first port of call when visiting.

I'll be staying in Conwy for three days. Is there any chance I could go to Caernarfon Castle and come back the same day? Do you offer any tours that include the castle? Thank you!
LlandudnoTIC
Llandudno, UK
Hello Andrea
Certainly, yes there is a regular bus service - the number 5 or X5 departs Conwy every 15 minutes Mon-Sat from the town square by the railway station, that goes to Caernarfon via Bangor. The journey takes approximatley 1 hr 30 mins and will drop you close to the caslte. A day ticket will cost £5-50.
We are not aware of any organised trips at present that include the castle but our excellent public transport links will make it easy for you.
We hope this helps,
Kindest regards,
Llandudno TIC
