About
Built in the late 13th century and reputed to be haunted by a past resident, this picturesque castle was built for King Edward I and is a perfect example of the "concentric castle" design.

I visited all 4 of Edward I's defensive castles in north Wales (Beaumoris, Harlech, Conwy, Carnavon), and definitely vote Conwy the best -- not too ruined (Harlech), not too confusing (Carnavon), nicely explained, connected to Edward I city walls you can walk, lovely views over...More

One of many castles in Wales but this one is more massive and intact than some of the others. Very interesting to wander around and imagine life in medieval times! One of our favorites of the 8 we visited.

worth £9.50 per person. Great views and very interesting to visit. Quite a lot of steps in parts. Can walk the walls for free as no access via castle, access just past the visitors centre.

We paid £9.50 each for entry to the castle which I think is very pricey. The views are amazing, however you can walk the castle walls around the perimeter of the town for free and achieve the same if not better views. There’s plenty of...More

Excellent views of the surrounding area and a superb castle to explore- if you like castles. Some steep steps to navigate, but well worth a visit.

Obviously a lot of interesting history here if you are into that sort of thing, personally I enjoyed the castle purely for the views and taking some photographs. Lot of climbing up the towers, which is quite strenuous.

Lots of history here and the walk was nice around the castle and part of the walls as was getting windy n cold. Will go back again as worth the money even though restorTion work is going on.

As above have said - 2 hours at least as the views are great and lots to see in grounds of castle. But can easily fit both in on same day :)
