Built in the late 13th century and reputed to be haunted by a past resident, this picturesque castle was built for King Edward I and is a perfect example of the "concentric castle" design.

We visited Conwy Castle as part of our family holiday to Llandudno and got there via one of the sightseeing buses. Prices for entry are reasonable and the castle itself is in very good condition and well maintained. Only downside we found was there was only a few games laid on for the kids to do inside the castle but... More

This castle costs a little bit to get into (around £7-£9) there is so much history and information about the castle, plus great activities for younger members to take part in. We spent around 2 hours in the castle but could have stayed longer. I don't normally buy guidebooks but on this occasion we did, and would recommend it, as... More

Visited with my family in the summer holidays. It was around £23 for five of us. There's a really good quiz for the kids and they get a badge at the end of it. Even if you've missed a couple. Unfortunately it lacks information on the castle itself but it's lovely to go and have a look round. Some parts... More

Visited here in May half term with one interested and one very interested child. Quite expensive but as it is just ruins no rooms to go inside. But it does offer some nice views on the bridge. It was full of large groups of tourist groups, which prove difficult when trying to get in and out of the castle up... More

Conwy Castle is one of my favorite ruins. There are sufficient remains of Edward I's stronghold to give a great feel for its magnificence, and the city walls make a good walk. There are beautiful town and sea views from the heights and opportunities to peer into the castle's creepy prison tower, kitchen spaces, and enormous central rooms. Be careful... More
