Built in the late 13th century and reputed to be haunted by a past resident, this picturesque castle was built for King Edward I and is a perfect example of the "concentric castle" design.

Conwy Castle is a site my wife and I had been keen to go to as well as Plas Mawr, an Elizabethan house in the town. I'd suggest parking in the nearby Morfa Bach which only cost £3.50 for 10 hours and just a few minutes walk from the Castle. Before we went, we had done a bit of research... More

I really like and enjoyed my visit to the castle. Even the entrance is £7.45 without something special, I had a nice day at the Castle. The view was picturesque!

You don't need your imagination too much around this castle as there doesn't seem to be too much in ruins. The castle contains lots of towers that are all accessible and no matter where you take a photo you will not be disappointed. There are also "The Walls" to walk round which would have contained the town-folk and, again, these... More

This is a very large castle in the heart of downtown Conwy. Plenty of parking nearby. This is a busy tourist area with helpful information and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

Having lived in the area for over 40 years I thought it was time we did the Castles, Conwy is our first and it is brilliant. Captions on different walls don't mince their words.

If you are coming by car, park in the lower/father lot and you get drive through the moat, and walk on top of the castle walls to get to the main entrance. Packing a picnic lunch and eating your sandwiches in one of the many window seats is highly recommended. This is now my favorite castle. Why? It's intact enough/has... More
