Allow an hour to read the interesting display boards. (More if you are using the cafe too). We chanced upon this attraction by accident and had to rush. What a shame!

It was only because friends had told us about it that we visited the Tithe Barn with its millennium tapestry (stitched by a group of local women). A lady who had taken part in sewing the tapestry was on hand to give some very helpful information. There is also an interactive history of the town on the upper floor of... More

Visiting from Australia, it was terrific to have staff enthusiastically explain everything about the building, the town, and then give us a run down on accommodation and offer to phone ahead for us. We came back later to see the tapestry and they were shut ...however the manager saw us and reopened, waiting for us to tour the building! Service... More

A nice cafe situated in the visitors centre, a good selection of food at very reasonable priced. A good place to relax.

Together with 11 other family members plus two young children my wife and I visited this small museum mainly to view the tapestry which we learned of through friends. The tapestry adorns one of the walls upstairs and when we were all in front of it, we were given an excellent presentation about the way the tapestry was made by... More

Lovely cuppa and cakes. Staff very friendly and even got water for our dog. If you visit you must go upstairs and see the tapestry. It's really impressive!

There is a very interesting timeline history, not too much as to be boring! There is also a beautiful tapestry on display - and best of all - it is FREE!

I called into the Tithe Barn as it also houses the Tourist Information Office. After getting the information I needed, I went upstairs and looked at the beautiful tapestry - it's simply stunning to see up close and well worth a look and the cafe was an added bonus.

Thank you for our Trip Advisor review and your comments. We also believe our tapestry is stunning and sometimes you can get even more information as the some of the lady stitchers' who worked on the tapestry talk about the project. Hopefully we will see you again soon More

Well worth a visit if you're in Abergavenny. The barn has been superbly renovated. The history is explained well, the tapestry is amazing and the staff are very knowledgable and friendly. I can highly recommend a visit to both the barn and the church. It was fascinating.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Church and Tithe Barn at St Mary's . We try to provide as much knowledge as we can on the history of the site and the wider Abergavenny area. The tapestry is AMAZING (we are biased) but others will have to judge it for themselves. We hope you will visit again... More

I can see a lot of money has been spent on the building and it is very smart but the quality of the tea and cakes we had was not really very good and it seemed a shame that the quality of ingredients did not match the building.
