Nostalgia might be the most diplomatic word I could call to mind. Instant coffee (possibly because I order decaf, or maybe not), triple packs of custard creams available and similar convenience snacks reminiscent of the 1970s. It's not cheap and not so much friendly as intrusive When asked whether we were on holiday, I said that we're local and the... More

This is a Shop/Experience and a Cafe, all on one site. We popped into the shop and found a wealth of goodies: plenty of unusual presents for those people you know who are hard to buy for. All laid out in a very pleasant way, and displayed in order for you to choose easily. Every kind of slate product is... More

We visited Inigo Jones after passing it several times on our travels. Lot more than meets the eye. The shop is well presented and lots of lovely items for sale, not too badly priced either, purchased numbers for our gate :) Decided to do the tour, reasonable fee which was good, very good and very informative. Watched a video first... More

On arrival, the shop / reception looks professional and sets expectations high for an interesting way to learn about the history & tools of the slate works. The commentary and activities are good however the experience is let down by the state of the workshops. I wouldn't discourage people from visiting but I would encourage the owners to invest in... Thanks for your comments which are appreciated and we will certainly take them on board. As you appreciate it is a workshop but we certainly can improve on our housekeeping and it is a matter of devoting more time to this at a time when we are extremely busy producing orders. We are glad you enjoyed your visit. More

While on holiday we wanted to visit a slate works as this is what Wales industries are about. While the introductory film was very interesting and informative the actual tour around the slate works left a lot to be desired. Very run down and could do with a facelift. I realise the huts are in use and as such there... More

Called on the way home after a day out and we were pleasantly surprised. The tour round the slate works was very interesting with an introductory film and an mp3 audio tour to take you round. There was an opportunity at the end to try your hand at calligraphy and carving letters on slate. The shop is well stocked with... More

although we decided not to do the tour there were pictorial boards giving you a brief history of the Inigo Jones slate works. The site is easy to find and we'll sign posted. We strolled around the outside show area with garden features and sculptures and then into the shop... plenty of slate related items to suit every pocket from... More

I visited here with a basic knowledge of what slate can be produced for after Quarrying. The self guided tour filled in all remaining gaps i may have had. The shop is lovely and relaxing atmosphere with a variety of different products, outside these further products are available. The gentleman who served me was very friendly and helpful. The MP3... Visited on my trip to Caernarfon at the end of May 2016. I was really looking forward to visiting this attraction. To 'buy' the self-guided tour, you have to enter through the gift shop. Although the gift shop was an excellent standard, with lovely items for sale, the prices of the items were extraordinarily high. For somewhere that this is... More

Thanks for visiting and pleased you enjoyed the self guided tour. Your comments about the size of slate are noted. However if we provided a larger slate we would have to increase our price and we want to keep the price reasonable for all, as we consider we currently offer excellent value for money. As far as our shop prices... More
