Description:

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor...

Step into what remains of a secret wartime air base, now our Visitor Centre, where thousands of people lived and worked in the 1940s. Walk through a masterpiece in landscape design, which is 'Capability' Brown's very first, which has been painstakingly restored for over 18 years from what was once a lost and overgrown 18th century parkland. Explore the park and lakeside to find out what conservation project we're working on this year.

Find Croome Court, the home of the Earls of Coventry, at the heart of the park which has been patiently waiting for its revival. Its time has come this year as the faded house is repaired and reserviced to be able to open up all four floors in 2016. This year explore two floors of un-restored spaces, see what the builders are working on and climb the scaffold for a cup of tea on Sky Cafe.

We visited Croome today and chose to only visit the grounds on this occasion. My daughter visits regularly with her grandparents but it was my first visit. The guide map is very helpful and we walked to a number of points of interest. The information at each location was excellent with the history and origin of the building. Lots of... More

Great value day out, from the superb reception by the carpark team, through to booking in and the catering, the background teams were superb. The event it self was a great success and combined with a bust to the house plus a walk through the walled gardens made this an amazing day. Only thing that could be improved are the... More

Well worth a visit if only that you can meet and chat with the couple who own it and put their heart and soul (as well as shedfulls of money into it to fully restore it to its original glory. There is still a load of restoration to do including possibly the longest 'hot wall' in England. A short lived... More

Groom offers some many different interesting aspects to enjoy. Lovely walks and around Capability Brown gardens and lake. They are really trying to make the house something very different covering many areas of the house history. Good things for the children to. Enjoyable day.

The website warns you about "devastating loss" and the house really is in a very sad state. Quite depressing to see what damage can be done to a fine old house. The grounds and museum are nice enough but it is quite a long way from where you enter the grounds to the house - a lot longer than it... More

The house has little furniture but has glorious plaster work .It is Capability Brown's first garden so the views are great. It is used to display modern art some of which is very poor but a good laugh. The guides are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and well worth talking to. Atm there is a display of tapestries by Grayson Perry... More

I live so close and have never been but went to see the Grayson Perry exhibition. The house is evolving and is interesting to see as there is something from each of the houses distinct owners. The exhibition was fantastic and I have told people about it as there has been only low key marketing which is a shame. A... More

I had no idea somewhere as beautiful as this was on my doorstep. Beautiful grounds, wonderful walks and a very tasty cafe. It is a very pricey cafe, so would recommend bringing a picnic. The property wasn't up to much so would give it a miss in future.
