About
The Museum of Royal Worcester holds the largest collection of Worcester porcelain in the world. In recent years the Museum has undergone a major £1.7 million refurbishment supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Whilst being fresh and modern, the displays pay homage to a magnificent history and heritage. The Museum's galleries and showcases are swathed in sumptuous colours showing the collection off to its best advantage. With the recreation of the factory workshop and family parlour amongst some of the displays and high quality interactives there is something for everyone.

This museum is worth a visit to get an insight into china through the ages and especially to see some of the beautiful pieces produced by Royal Worcester themselves. We did the self guided tour which included a video but it is also possible to get a handheld oral guide.

This is so interesting we spent a good couple of hours here, the items on show from the early days are incredible and the workmanship is incredible. Not a complaint but your opening times need to be made clearer as it’s not altered on the outside building

We pre-booked (it's not cheap) and found a modern and very well presented exhibition with many beautiful objects. We came away feeling less informed than hoped about the nature of porcelain and its special place in Worcester. But a must see if visiting the city, and easily accessed.

Great place to visit and extremely interesting. Were made very welcome by the two ladies at the desk who recommended the audio tour which was really worth doing. Beautiful botanical painting exhibition too.

Such a lovely afternoon painting pots with my two children at the museum. We were inspired by the local Elephant trail and the wonderful exhibitions at the museum. Thank you to the staff for making our afternoon so much fun. The girls loved it.

I spent almost two hours here and it really was a fascinating museum to visit. The thing that made it for me was the audio guide, I got so much from the visit by using that. The short introductory film was excellent at setting the scene and from there you follow the history and the marvel at the skill and craftsmanship of the artists who created the Royal Worcester pottery. I found I kept going back to look at the work of George Owen which was absolutely stunning. It really an outstanding museum and a credit to all those responsible for curating the displays.

I was in Worcester with some spare time and an online search of museums brought up the Royal Worcester museum. I went along and was able to spend around an hour exploring this fascinating collection which starts with how China is made, designed and printed etc. It is a very colourful and superb collection in a spacious and light building.
The staff are very friendly and e shop is excellent. There is also an adjacent café where you can get refreshment after your visit.

I had wanted to see this museum for a while. It didn’t disappoint. You were given a machine which explained different items and a video to start with. Then you were left to wander around the exhibits. Very interesting. Toilets were clean and handy. Then I treated myself to a piece of pottery in the gift shop. Well worth a visit.

I went there a week ago with my children, aged 12 and 16. It gives a really good insight in to the history of porcelain industry in Worcester and who ordered sets (King George III and Lord Nelson both did, following visits to the city).

There are some stunningly beautiful vases, tea sets and other ornaments. There's a particularly good audio guide. There's a lift btween floors, an excellent shop (ideal for pre Xmas shopping!) and an excellent cafe in the courtyard next door.

Combine it with a stroll along the River Severn and maybe a visit to the Cathedral (all close together) and you've got a perfect day out.
