I just sang, with an amateur choir, Elgar's Dream of Gerontius and fell in love with the piece, so this place was a must see as we were in the area. If you are not interested in Elgar, it will disappoint. Follow up with a visit to Worcester Cathedral.

Very interesting place to visit, especially given Elgars history as one of the great composers. Interesting tour and period furniture. Lovely outlook. Altogether well worth a visit.

Ok if you like this sort of thing. Beautiful surroundings but a little overpriced. I've been to worse attractions

Situated in Broadheath, Elgar's birthplace is about 3 miles outside the city of Worcester. The birthplace is accessed via a gift shop and small cafe, followed by a short walk through Elgar's garden. The house has been preserved as it would have been in Elgar's younger days and there are many interesting mementos and artefacts. There is a small recital/lecture... More

Having lived in the area for 3 years now, this was our first visit to this special place. We should have been here from day one! A great way to spend a few hours learning about one of the great sons of Worcester. I was amazed the audio tour was included within the very reasonable entrance fee. The mix of... More

A compact but very well laid out museum. Plenty of memorabilia of the great man and his family life. A very informative video to watch before being turned loose on the exhibitions. The cottage is a real delight, though in modern terms, sparse. But then, we are pampered by comparison. Good outing for musical buffs and a good couple of hours... More

My wife & I love music so visiting the Birthplace Museum of Edward Elgar was a "must visit!" The exhibits and visitor center are great. We even were able to have a late lunch in the visitor center.

I live locally and this museum is part of a scheme for children called Chidren's University so my 10 year old daughter wanted to visit. I thought it would be a nice afternoon out for the whole family as the website features children heavily in its photography. To be fair the staff who initially greeted us were really good, explained... More
