Our second visit to the Malvern Spa. We enjoyed it so much the first time we wanted to go back! We have stayed at several spas up and down the country and the Malvern is right up there with the best of them.
Lovely, spotlessly clean accommodation. Modern rooms with very comfortable beds and nice little touches like a cafetiere and ground coffee on the drinks tray and Elemis toiletries in the shower room.
The pool area is lovely although it does get busy; well, certainly the loungers do. I loved the outdoor pool which was lovely and warm.
The restaurant/food is exquisite. It was wonderful the last time we were here and was wonderful again. There's a chef here who certainly knows what they're doing. The menu is fairly limited but the food is delicious. The staff were also so friendly, welcoming and polite.
My only criticism - on checking out we were given a bill on which we were told there was an "optional" tip charge of £8 for the restaurant. Now I know that £8 doesn't sound much, but it's rather naughty just putting that charge on there when we'd spend the best part of £700 for a 2 night stay. If something is optional, you should be given the choice to put it on or not, it's shouldn't just be added on regardless. Yes, the restaurant staff were fabulous and faultless, but it's the principle. It seemed a bit cheeky. Having said that, we'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

My boyfriend and I booked a 2 night spa package to celebrate being together for 5 years. We were given a pre-check in form to fill online which was easy and intuitive. Upon arrival we were met by extremely friendly reception staff who walked us through everything and showed us how to use the temperature check.
The spa facilities were fantastic, such a lovely hydrotherapy pool and was excellent later in the evening with the cold fresh air contrasting the comfortably hot water. The loungers were frequently serviced with attendants regularly preparing used loungers and providing fresh towels. It seems, probably due to the pandemic, that the ice fountain was missing which was a shame, but overall extremely relaxing and pleasant.
We had a full body massage each day, I saw the lovely Holly and Katie, with my boyfriend seeing Emily and Isabel. The experience was truly relaxing, relieving a lot of tension and relaxing. All of the therapists were soft-spoken and had their rooms at a perfect temperature. Once we'd had our treatments the therapists then talked us through the products they had used and gave us a little pamphlet of all their products and marked the ones they had used. After trying different massage oils each day we settled on purchasing the Musclease active body oil, and I cannot recommend the Frangipani Monol hair & scalp mask enough! Truly fantastic fragrance and left my hair feeling wonderful!
The restaurant food was well cooked and decent portion sizes, leaving enough room for 2 courses, but a struggle for 3! The bar staff were helpful and knowledgeable, I'd highly recommend a blueberry mint mule from their cocktail menu! We had very little wait for our food and drinks and were given some interesting savoury popcorn to nibble whilst we waited.
For breakfast the experience was similarly efficient, delicious food from the kitchen and friendly staff serving continental foods. I must give a shout out to Beth who was extremely friendly and chatty, recalling and checking on details from the first time we'd spoken. Really made our mornings and set us up happy and excited for the day!
The room itself was nice, and clean. Bed was tidy, and the housekeeping team were friendly and helpful. The toilet paper could do with a bit of an upgrade, but the shower was wonderful. Dedicated air conditioning meant that we could enjoy our room at the right temperature for us and the lamps were able to provide some soft lighting for later in the evening. Whilst there was ample plugs for charging on one side of the bed, the other didn't have any plugs, and the plugs near the console table were a bit far away for my chargers to reach. But overall these minor issues did not detract from the quality of the stay, nor our enjoyment of the package!
We absolutely love this spa and can't wait to come back and see you all again!

My Wife and I visited the spa this week after getting married. The staff at the Malvern are lovely. Fi/Fiona greeted us on arrival and she is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Polite, funny and clearly passionate about the Malvern. Fi even come to the front to say goodbye when we checked out and that was a really nice touch. Also wanted to mention Morgan who gave me a massage and a facial and it was, one of the best massages I’ve ever had. She was also polite, talkative and also very passionate about her role.
The room was a good size, had everything we needed although we had to move from our intial room due to building works at the front but this was done instantly and we were also given a free drink each.
Staff in the restaurant was very nice. Most were quite young and I’m assuming we’re back home from university but thier politeness was really noticeable. We enjoyed every dish we had. The hot cheese board, lamb and steak are highly recommended.
My only issue with the Malevern is the pods near the pool. They cost £120 for four hours however they don’t have their own sun loungers so you have to sacrifice one or the other. Also, it has a table inside the pod yet you can’t order light bites to the pod but you can order order drinks. When we was in the pod a body pump class was happening 10 feet away in the gym with the door open. It was quite loud so it was hard to relax.
I would’ve given the Malvern four stars due to the pod experience but the staff are so nice that they don’t deserve four stars and therefore I would happily return but would only consider a pod if they made slight changes.

Badly run spa by management and spa staff.
There is definitely room for improvement, such as the lack of communication over spa bookings and T&Cs, and customer service training is needed for individuals on how to address the customer.
Restaurant is severely understaffed, be prepared to wait awhile for food that is kept warm under heat lamps; the ‘crispy’ battered fish was soggy; the pasta was rubbery; the chicken burger was dry. Moreover, our drinks were left waiting at the bar because the wait staff (all 2 of them) can’t cope with the numbers in the restaurant. Although the waitress gave us some discount towards the bill, it didn’t really compensate us for the bad experience that we received on what was supposed to be a special birthday meal that we planned months in advance.
The bad experience was extended further the following morning when I was called by May, a spa receptionist, who took an accusatory stance against me, demanding a “Sunday supplement” payment on our spa pod, which I was NOT made aware of. May went as far as to say “you were made aware of this at the time of booking”, then went on to state that she wasn’t even the receptionist who took the booking - she went from lying/insinuating that I purposefully knew about and dodged a payment, to admitting that she wasn’t aware of the actual circumstances. When I pointed this out, she put me through to her manager, Laura, who persevered with the exact same accusatory tone.
As a member, this whole experience has left me feeling incredibly let down by an establishment where I’d expect a better level of customer service.

I had heard nothing but good reviews of the Malvern so I was expecting good things. Unfortunately though, Ive been to many 4 and 5 start spa's and The Malvern didnt live up to expectations. From the start we were told we couldnt check into our rooms until 3pm but as part of our package we had access to the spa from midday, however we werent given any access cards to the spa. We had a little lunch in the restaurant which we felt was quite expensive, nearly £10 for a sandwich! Although I would say that this was very nice. We had to go back to reception to collect our towels and robes and were again asked if we had checked in, I dont understand why we were asked this again as it wasnt 3pm yet and staff know you cant check in until 3pm. We changed and both had lovely treatments which were very well priced and carried out. Howvere, afterwards I tried to get into the spa and couldnt. When I asked staff, they said that I needed a pass. But why werent we given this when we arrived. When eventually gained access to the spa, I was dissapointed to see that there werent any free sun loungers and I had to hang around and wait for one. The remaining three of my party also had a bit of hassle getting them too. So on this point I feel that more consideration should be given to how many bookings you allow for the spa. I appreciate that members have access but oversubscribing causes disapointment to those whove never been before and are then unlikely to return as a result. I didnt feel that the spa facilities were that good either really, there were a limited number of types of spa. Both pools are lovely and warm and clean but the jets from the jacuzzi are so powerful you cant sit by them as they blast you about and splash over your face way mnore than a jacuzzi should. The table service is a really good idea and fairly quick service too but when we saw the cocktails which we ordered at £10, we were horrified! They were the tiniest measures Ive ever seen and were barely 200mls. Way way overpriced!! Sadly the whole experience at The Malvern was dissapointing; a very disjointed entry and check in process, I lost count of the amount of times we were asked if we'd checked and filled in the forms, getting staff to communicate between the hotel check in and spa check is disjointed, rediculously overpriced food and drinks, very slow service in the restaurant on both occasions and certainly not the best spa facilitiues Ive seen.

Hello
Thank you for taking the time to post your review and share your feedback.
I am sorry to learn of your disappointment with your visit. As you mention, our reviews are usually livery complimentary about all aspects of the spa and so I am surprised you were disappointed.
You should have been provided with a spa access card with towels and robes from midday when you arrived. I understand the towels and robes were to be collected once you had eaten your lunch rather than carry them with you. However, I am sorry the cards were not provided for you, this is clearly an oversight.
It is a shame you did not enjoy your visit on this occasion.

I was looking forward to my night away with my daughter. First thing I noticed was two single beds,on the website they looked a lot bigger. The dressing table had chunks out of it, I thought it looked like butlins furniture. Going into the bathroom, there was only one shower cap on the tray,no single toiletries, only the pump dispensers on the wall. The spa pools were nice, not impressed with the sauna “broken seat” roped off part. The restaurant meal was well cooked and well presented, our £25 each allowance did not go very far, as it was expensive. The staff were friendly, but were rushed, it seems they were short staffed.
Forget the lie in in the morning, our room faced the road where a new aldis was being built, and the noise from the diggers woke us up.The English breakfast was again well presented, and eggs cooked as requested. The continental buffet let the side down, chopped fruit that was clearly going off, sliced meats curling up,obviously been left out for some time.
On the whole, not what you would expect from this hotel, was extremely disappointed of the standards, and certainly not worth the £257 a night!

I booked a spa package overnight stay which included a double room, full access to spa facilities, a one hour treatment, breakfast and £25 voucher for dinner.
The room was beautifully decorated and very clean, plenty of towels, comfy bed.
The spa facilities are excellent. Two beautiful saunas, a lovely steam room and the hydrotherapy pool is wonderful. It was quite busy during the day, but early in the morning I had some quality time there before breakfast.
I had a full body massage from Morgan. I like a forceful massage that really works my muscles and she honestly gave me one of the best massages I've ever had. She listened to my various body complaints and worked with them. I'd come back just to get another massage!
The food was also good. Huge portions and tasty. I think a better vegetarian breakfast should be offered and perhaps another dinner option for those on low carb diets...like me. I found ways round it though.
Overall, an excellent spa experience I feel. I'd visit again. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is literally built in a business park, so the surroundings aren't pretty. They have done a good job on the design though, so you don't notice so much when you're inside. It's so close to the Malvern hills, I took a walk up there afterwards for some scenery. Reception staff were really helpful and printed me a trail map.
I think it was good value for the overnight break and would recommend.

From the moment you step into the entrance, a wonderful spa experience awaits. The staff are kind and attentive, the facilities are spotless and the food is complementary.
The rooms are standard size with all you would expect. We stayed in a suite which gives you some extra space, a sofa, a nespresso-style coffee machine, a his and hers sink and, if the bubbles in the spa area aren’t enough, a jacuzzi bath and complementary Elemis amenities.
The spa area itself is well maintained and nicely balanced. A joined indoor and outdoor pool area with all sorts of different jacuzzi bubbles, with the inside bathed in light from the large south facing glazing which divides the internal and external areas. The sauna/steam/ shower experience was also nice. The Kelo sauna followed by a cold bucket shower of water being my personal favourite combination.
The food was delightful. Our evening meal was a brand new menu and the food was tasty and well cooked. Breakfast too was lovely, cooked breakfast served in addition to self service continental.
Ollie, the guest relations manager, helped to really lift an enjoyable experience and would highly recommend it.
The location, though not idyllic (which doesn’t really matter too much once you’re inside), is very accessible with lots of amenities nearby.

The day started by having to hang around for half an hour in the cramped and busy corridor to be checked in at the spa desk while the main reception has a huge area with two people behind the desk looking bored and almost dismissive when pointing us in the direction of the spa check in. Eventually we were able to check in but the check in desk was tiny so the poor girl had hardly any space to place paperwork for us to fill in. We went to use the pool facilities but there were no loungers available to sit on so we had to sit on the floor alongside others. The massages we had booked were lovely and the best part of the day. The quiet room after the massages were not being checked so the lady shouting down her phone continually made us leave very quickly. Lunch - shortstaffed.

Never judge a book by its cover! Not the most characterful of facades or locations but this spa hotel is beautifully put together inside which more than made up for that. I came out feel relaxed and that I’d had a proper ‘escape’. Great service from every member of staff encountered including excellent firm massage from Ellie. Swimming pool and facilities are gorgeous. Had use of one of the private pods by the swimming pool and 100% recommend that especially in the cooler months - heated, Bluetooth music, coloured lighting with food and drinks delivered to it so you can go in and out pool with ease and return to warm up and relax. The restaurant food was really delicious and the hotel rooms were comfortable with lovely Elemis products in the bathroom. I would recommend this place to anyone.
