- JCH977Bath, United Kingdom15 contributionsGreat venue with good parking nearbyWe visited this venue for the first time yesterday evening. What a great place! Clean, spacious and modern with plentiful parking close by in Priory Road., costing only £1.50 for evening parking. The walk from the car park to the venue across the park was short, easy and well lit with lights set into the paths. The route into the park is just next to the entrance to the Splash Leisure Centre.Thank you for your 5* review! We are glad you enjoyed your trip to Malvern Theatres and that you found the experience easy and convenient. We hope to see you again soon. - David S2 contributions39steps just brilliantThe 39 steps is simply a wonderful show with a brilliant cast who are very very good at delivering a fast comedic play. Stage scenery is well managed and takes you through a vast array of locations. The train was outstanding. Highly recommend this for all. 10 out of 10Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 18, 2024
- Megan W2 contributionsCluedo 2I went to see Cluedo 2 at Malvern theatres in May 2024. The staff were so kind and the food and drink options were very good. At first I found Cluedo 2 a little boring but after around 20 minutes it gets a lot better and entertaining. The actors were great and it lead to a hilarious performance. I would definitely recommend this to a friendVisited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 13, 2024

We went to go and see the pantomime, Aladdin at Malvern Theatres, first time I'd been in a few years. The show itself was okay, even if it did seem like they were trying too hard to get laughs which they didnt get.
The theatre itself was clean and tidy, the staff were all helpful. But there is a lack of seating when waiting to go into the theatre... so it means crowds of people waiting to go in just milling about with nowhere to go.
The seating in the theatre wasnt that comfortable, and it more felt like you were sat in a cramped cinema than a theatre...

Dear kellylouise2019,
With the foyer being a thoroughfare, we must ensure that it is free from obstruction at all times. Unfortunately, adding more to the 150 seats we currently have in the foyer would create a hazard and prevent a safe building evacuation, if the need were to arise.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments.
Best wishes,
Michael Wilson

Nice venue but total rip off, tickets and bar. Why are touring shows £10 a seat more than other parts of the country? Pint of beer £6.50, wine £8. Booking fee on every ticket, not the transaction. Check if your artist/show is nearby, I’ve just booked £11 a seat cheaper for a show in June. Won’t book here again unless no option.

Love the Festival Theatre which appears to be quite old and quaint despite the modern building surrounding it. Plush red seats and velvet curtains, pretty good leg room, quick to get out after the show as the emergency doors were opened. Saw
lots of toilets, important for us oldies! Nice cosy old fashioned theatre, just up our street. I think the building consists of several entertainment venues.
Parking outside is very difficult, you can only park for 2 hours nearby which is cutting it fine if you are seeing a play. It spoilt our enjoyment of the play, we were worried we would get back to the car and find a parking ticket.

The act we saw was amazing and glad we saw it. This review is just about the theatre and our experience.
We arrived to find the entrances really busy and thought they were queues to get in, they were not, just people having drinks and smokes.
We went to get a drink to be told that no alcohol can be taken into the theatre and only closed bottles can go in. I have never heard this of a theatre and we have visited a lot. We didn’t have time to buy a drink and finish it without downing it and pretending to be in a nightclub.
The theatre staff kept sending people to the wrong rows because for some odd reason they started with Row b so if you had row c tickets they would send you to the third row! There was a tiny letter at the end of the row to show which row it actually was, minutes before the show a lot of people were swapping seats.
The plastic bottle rule caused someone to accidentally fall on a bottle which was on its side - wouldn’t of happened if you had a pint. Person was ok but very embarrassed.
Got a drink in the interval but again had to rush as you couldn’t take it in the theatre - overpriced and not great didn’t finish it.
If you want a nice social event, enjoy a show with a drink then this isn’t the place. We won’t go back there with lots of much better theatres it was just the closest one with the act but we would rather travel further for a better experience.

Recently visited during Easter to watch Midsommer Nights Dream’ actors were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed the show, from start to finish.
However, a small bottle processo at £11 per bottle is extortionate especially when the manager could not find a suitable plastic glass to take into the auditorium, advising they were two expensive when sourcing for the new no glass policy recently introduced.
Ushers were supper friendly and very accommodating it’s a shame paid staff do not share the same passion.

Our daughter gave us theatre tickets as a gift - for the Rod Stewart Tribute act. It was a kind and generous thought, but we are not great fans of tribute acts and we were disappointed that neither refund or even exchange was an option. So we just decided to be diplomatic, to say nothing and just enter into the spirit and enjoy the night. We arrived early and went to the bar to have a drink to put us in the mood, BUT £22 for two glasses of warm white wine was a bit much! Another drink at the interval might have helped to make the sadly mediocre tribute act a bit more enjoyable, but at thoe prices, it wasn't an option.
This is our local theatre but it has become exorbitantly expensive and we shall NOT be returning.

Give some thought to disabled visitors
i visited to buy tickets. Major building work was in progress so couldn't access by front doors. A sign had been fastened to the side gate directing me to the back of the building. Unfortunately the sign had been fixed when the gate was closed but the gate had been opened and left, making the arrow on the sign point in the wrong direction. This might have been funny in a Brian Ricks farce, as a disabled person being directed down a dead end I was not amused. I eventually found my way to the rear of the building to be met by a mountain of steps which I had to negotiate in some discomfort.

Thank you for your feedback and my apologies for the difficulty you experienced when visiting the building. We are grateful to you for your comments and take all feedback very seriously. Although we are nearly at the end of the building work we will continue to work to improve the experience for all visitors ahead of us reopening. Best wishes and my very sincere apologies again, Toby Burchell

Theatre is bright and airy with a large reception area. Good shows and friendly staff. Negative is the rip off prices - £4 per ticket booking fee, considering that as a customer you're doing all the booking work it's extortionate. Bar prices - £11 for a wine, £3.50 for a small bootle of Coke and £2.50 for a small water come on It's not the West End !!

We attended an excellent performance of St Matthew Passion on Friday evening.
However, we suggest disabled & wheelchair access arrangements are urgently reviewed. Signage is inadequate, inaccurate & downright dangerous, pointing disabled visitors to steep inclines & uneven surfaces at the rear of the building. This situation had probably arisen due to ongoing building works but nonetheless needsattending to without delay.

What are the bestcseats to book
Written November 11, 2018
When booking ask for front of stage A B C D E F any of those are good just think which is best for you all seats are the same , but if you choose A then you will be right at the front and would that be to close for you !!!
We sat in F which was good for us and there is a seating map on the web site so have a look you will enjoy fabulous theatre ðŸŽ

Looking to book for elvis in nov...are the seats tiered? Which are the best seats please?
Written September 16, 2018
Dear Tanzbabe 1,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The tiered section of the Forum Theatre starts at row M. Rows C - L are on the flat.
It is difficult to say where the best seats are as everyone has their preferred location. There are no restricted view seats so it entirely depends on whether you prefer being close to the front or further back but higher up. If you would like to call our box office on 01684 892277, we would be happy to help you choose the best seats for your requirements.
Best wishes,
Michael Wilson

Are the the cinema stalls air conditioned?
Written July 22, 2018
Dear Linda T,
Thank you for contacting us with your question.
The cinema isn't air conditioned however it is fortunate enough to be one of the cooler venues in the building with a heat extraction system built in for warmer days.
Best wishes,
Michael Wilson

I have a disability so need end of aisle seats with no stairs. I've tried looking for seating plans but can only find the interactive ones?
Written December 23, 2016
Dear Ctmf,
Thanks for getting in touch.
We have a large number of accessible step-free aisle seats in all 3 of our auditoria, most of which are located in the stalls. The seating plans for each of our theatres is different so I'd recommend speaking to a member of our box office team who will be able to advise on the availability and ensure that all your requirements are met.
If you would like to give us a call, our contact details are at the top of this page.
Best wishes,
Michael Wilson

Living near Malvern and visiting this theatre and Malvern town many times, I can honestly say I have never encountered anyone who would behave like this, no matter what anyone's ethnic background or health. This is one person you encountered, and not the whole of Malvern. A real shame to judge everybody by one bad apple. Come back and visit again - I'm sure you would have an entirely different experience!

This was posted in regard to one lady's negative experience with one member of the public sitting behind her, by the way. This seems to be posted as a random question/comment, and not in relation to the particular review, as I assumed, and so the lady in question won't see it. What a shame. Malvern is a lovely place, with (mostly) lovely people!

Hi,
I've just been onto your website to view what might be on between Christmas and New Year 2015 and cannot make head nor tail of your site. What is on the stage live and what is a film to view. Sorry to appear backward but its not obvious to me.
Regards,
Steve Thompson
