This barn is fascinating, and huge. It is believed to date from 13th century. It is in good order. There is decent interpretation. Admission is free but donations requested

Breathtaking scale, a very beautiful building nestled at the heart of the Littletons - seek it out! You will not be disappointed (note limited opening times though!)

Fascinating building

This is well worth a visit to see the half-cruck roof construction. The building must be the largest of its kind. A National Trust property with open access at limited times on summer afternoons. Entry is through a side door.

What an interesting building which is in excellent condition considering its age.
The National Trust should do something to keep the pigeons out though.

How did they build this??
May 2019 • Couples
At first we thought the barn wasn't open but therre entrance is through a side door. From the outside the building is beautiful but inside the immense size of it is really apparent. To think it was constructed from the 1200s is incredible really. there are lots and lots of pigeons roosting in the barn so it does get a bit smelly!

Tucked away and very low-key. It's a large medieval barn, no more or less and with National Trust support has survived in great condition. However it looks like one big storm might bring it down. Because it's a barn without attempting to look wonderful, you get to see every aspect of the structure as designed and built by the skilled craftsmen of the day. Definitely worth a visit if you are near-by. No facilities there so head to local pub for lunch to soak up a little more Worcestershire atmosphere.

Seriously impressive.

I have worked near by for nearly two years now and have seen this wonderful structure for quite a while. Finally this summer I went to visit it. This is no real tourist attraction which I was grateful for, so no hoards of gawping tourists. It is a quietly impressive, almost daunting, piece of medieval architecture. It takes your breath away as soon as you step inside. That may also be down to all the pigeon muck as well, but it seriously impresses with it size and amazing A framed tiled roof. You can see the twisted timbers that were obviously green wood when first built and have warped as they dried out. Well worth spending an hour just soaking up all the atmosphere this place has to offer. I just wish the National Trust would do something about all the pigeons, their faeces, and clean this beautiful place up. It needs to survive not sink in a sea of bird muck. It is part of our heritage and must be preserved as such. No cafe or toilets. Cafe missing fine, toilets is a slightly different matter.
