This barn is fascinating, and huge. It is believed to date from 13th century. It is in good order. There is decent interpretation. Admission is free but donations requested

We visited the barn whilst out visiting other National trust sites nearby.
Opposite the barn is a large house, possibly holiday left, cars for this building were parking obstructing access to the barn.
The barn appeared locked on fist sight but the entrance is to the left and quite obscured. The workman ship inside the barn is beautiful bit it’s a shame it was covered in pigeon poo.
It was interesting to see, we walked around the attached orchard but other than that there is nothing there.

Appeared dilapidated and totally deserted. It was to open at 10 am, we reached there about 11 ish and no one in sight. Everything was locked and ours was the only car. Left in 10 minutes after looking in vain to see how we get in. Not recommended at all.

Breathtaking scale, a very beautiful building nestled at the heart of the Littletons - seek it out! You will not be disappointed (note limited opening times though!)

This is well worth a visit to see the half-cruck roof construction. The building must be the largest of its kind. A National Trust property with open access at limited times on summer afternoons. Entry is through a side door.

What an interesting building which is in excellent condition considering its age.
The National Trust should do something to keep the pigeons out though.

At first we thought the barn wasn't open but therre entrance is through a side door. From the outside the building is beautiful but inside the immense size of it is really apparent. To think it was constructed from the 1200s is incredible really. there are lots and lots of pigeons roosting in the barn so it does get a bit smelly!
