If you like planes, you'll love this place! For a modest entry fee you get to not only walk around loads of fabulous old planes, but actually sit inside their cockpits and play with all the dials! There's plenty to see and do here, and you can learn about the history of some of the British military's best old prototype... More

We're on a short break in Dorset and, loving aircraft, this was a must-do for me. So, after spending a lovely night in Salisbury, we nipped back to BDAC and then spent 4 hours mooching about. Going by the bemused faces of my friends (non-aviation buffs) I can't pledge that their day was as enjoyable as my own, but this... More

I discovered the collection quite by accident as I was in the neighbourhood & it was a lovely surprise it is. It is a great collection & is presented without frills which makes it feel so much nicer. I was astounded to find the whole thing is run by volunteers; its just great. I'm planning a return visit with my... More

This great little collection is mostly just the nose, cockpits and canopies from a wide range of original aircraft from WWII right up to the modern era all and with complete control and instruments, unlike other aviation museums I've been to, the real draw here is not looking at the complete aircraft on a plinth, rather here you can climb... Rainy afternoon, and a toss up between Salisbury catherdral, and Boscombe down, Boscombe down won :) my kids loved it, great hands on experience, which makes it different from other places, only a small place but we spent almost 3 hours in there, well worth the money we spent on a family ticket (23 quid). Nice little gift shop that's... More

Tactile experience for all to sit in cockpits and play with controls and even enjoy a demonstration.

Want to do something different? Then this is the place to visit, absolutely enjoyable three hours. An eight year old who was interested in planes had a great time at this museum. The chance to sit in the cockpit of a jet and push the buttons, pull the leavers, switch on anything without fear of being ejected was just what... More

Last Friday, my grand daughter was due to do a Sky Dive at the Old Sarum Airfield but due to inclement weather, it was called off at the last minute. However, all was not lost. Next to the Sky Dive centre is the Boscombe Aviation Collection, so rather than waste a day, we decided to have a look round. I... More
