I first visited with my 7yr old Grandson and together we spent at least 2hours clambering in and out of aircraft cockpits. Tom dressed up as a pilot and there was so much to see and learn. There are brilliant and knowledgable volunteers to who know the aircraft and who are happy to tell more about them and talk about... More

I found this place through Trip Advisor and despite having been born in Salisbury, had never heard of it before. Thought 'Why not?' and headed there with my partner for a day out. On the approach, we were a bit 'hmmmm', as it looks slightly ramshackle, however it is a total hidden gem and well worth the money. The volunteers... More

I loved this place. It has the feeling of a place run by people who love what they do. Slightly higgledy-piggledy layout but great fun. My daughter loved sitting in a Harrier cockpit. Rainy day in salisbury. Get out here.

Visited today with my 8 year old son. What a brilliant museum, staffed by people who have a genuine passion for what they do and want to share that passion with others. Lots of cockpits to climb into along with flying suits and helmets for kids to wear if they wish. Having the option to try out the Link trainer... More

Saw the brown tourist signs on a cross country journey avoiding motorways and made a small detour. If it were not for these signs we might well have passed it by... Fascinating collection of mainly post WW2 aircraft, fuselages and ephemera. Now I can say that I have sat at the controls of a Canbera bomber! Very knowledgeable volunteer guides... More

Have been several times to the Aviation Collection - a wonderful way to spend an afternoon wandering around the fantastic exhibits. One of the only aviation museums I've ever been to that let you actually sit in the aircraft cockpits. Recently has won a local small business award - which is a credit to the dedication and brilliance of the... More

Spent a day here with boys aged 6 and 11, they loved it! A few complete planes on display, and lots of original plane cockpits to clamber into with hundreds of buttons and switches to pretend to fly with. All the planes are associated with testing or training at Boscombe Down. There are helmets and flying suits to try on... More

I'm not really interested in planes but found this place really interesting. Although a small museum, I enjoyed being able to climb into the cockpits and felt like a small child. Thoroughly worth a visit if you have an hour or so to spare.
