Delicious green expanse, free of clutter as the approach to and surrounding the cathedral. Forms part of a circular walk around the cathedral too. Lovely.

Take a little walk around, really nice. We have been told in the pub to take a "town path" - really good view of the cathedral and the fields with the ships, not many cities can offer such a view! We loved our time in...More

While the cathedral is awesome, please don't leave the area without exploring the close ... some beautiful houses and packed with history. Worth it just for the architecture, there is also z museum and national trust house as well, so plenty to do.

Salisbury Cathedral stands at the centre of the Close and is one of the words greatest Churches. Also in the Close stands the Salisbury Museum and other Architectural Gems. The Close is really outstanding and bordered by the River Avon.

Walking to Salisbury Museum and around the Cathedral you pass through the Close. Simply stunning setting for an equally impressive Cathedral. Even on a cold December morning - its well worth taking the time to enjoy it!
