We visited while in Salisbury for the Christmas market, and found this little National Trust house. Unfortunately the upstairs rooms weren't open, but downstairs was very interesting, and the cafe, though small, was very efficient.

This is the second time we've visited and in May we walked round the house and ate lunch in the lovely courtyard outside. This time it was freezing, so we had to eat in. Three very sweet ladies made us excellent toasties and served good coffee. There are other snacks, cakes etc. The house has so much atmosphere and interesting... More

This still feels like a family home, and the embroidery pictures were amazing. Room stewards were very approachable and knowledgable

We came to this house after visiting the Salisbury cathedral. It's literally a minute walk away and has lovely views of the cathedral from some of its windows. The volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable, particularly liked the room upstairs with a secret door. Two particular volunteers were great - Martin was so friendly and welcoming, he made us laugh and... More

A quick stop here while we were at the Cathedral and the Salisbury museum. Pretty gardens and house. Worth visiting if you're a National Trust member and in the area.

As a first-time visitor I was very impressed by the friendly staff, who were most welcoming, and informative if required. The house was not huge, but ideal for a pleasant hour or so looking through one family's history, and an impressive collection of drinking glasses which my husband had wanted to see. And nice to see a more restrained décor... More

I would think you could just move in, a warm welcoming atmosphere, lovelydecorations/furniture, many interesting items to view, from the previous owner. The N T look after this so well and the guides answered all the questions however trivial.

This lovely house has some beautiful mid 18th century plasterwork, marble chimney pieces and very nice rooms. Collections on view include very fine 18C drinking glasses, fine period furniture and English porcelain. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and friendly. There is a very nice tranquil garden and the Garden Tea Room is just the place to enjoy tea, coffee and... More

A beautiful house on the close by the Cathedral in the centre of Salisbury. It's a fairly small property that you can whip around fairly quickly, so I would recommend doing this as part of a number of other things like visiting the Cathedral or other sights in the area. It's pretty but I would not go out of my... More
