Mompresson House in situated in the centre of Salisbury, very close to the famous cathedral there, with its record breaking spire. The house is typical of the period and presented in the usual high standard manner for which the National Trust properties are well known. Plenty of volunteer staff are on hand to answer questions you may have about the... More

This was our second visit to Mompesson (one of our group not having been before). The house is extremely well looked after and overlooks a lovely green in the centre of Salisbury. Although not a huge stately home, the house is full of interesting bits and pieces and all of the volunteers were very knowledgeable and happy to talk to... More

We found our visit very interesting with helpful guides who added to our enjoyment of this fine house. It's hard to believe that the National Trust had to furnish this house from scratch after it was given to them. The views of the Cathedral from the front facing rooms are wonderful

After I've had my fill of amazing cathedrals I like to give my over-awed senses a break. And I like old homes very much. There are lots of magnificent estates in and near Salisbury but Mompessom is just outside the gates of the Cathedral. It is a Georgian Terrace kept in pretty much authentic condition. I loved it!!! There is... More

I am so glad I chose to visit Mompesson House. I came on a quiet Sunday morning. A small, charming and elegant house. Lovely walled garden to play croquet on. The volunteer staff couldn't be more friendly.

We stumbled on this National Trust townhouse as we were visiting the cathedral as it is situated in the close right next to it. It has an impressive exterior and staff welcome you in. For a large house you seem to visit just a few rooms - a dining room, 2 sitting rooms, 2 bedrooms a library and an exhibition.... More

A lovely house to visit. It's so nice that it would be great if you could live in it even though it's so old. All staff are very friendly. The tea rooms are worth a visit.

We visited under our National Trust membership in Australia and it was recognised. Great exhibition with excellent commentary from the volunteer guides. Very interesting visit.
