Hello, This is a smaller NT property situated close to the Cathedral. It proved to be reasonably interesting and had a very nice rear garden. Fortunately I am a member, because I felt that the entry fee was a bit on the high side relative to the size of the property

Situated in Cathedral Close with parking outside this is a beautiful house and garden to visit. A 300 year old privvy in the garden. Lovely tea room with the best NT pot of tea that I have had. Indoor and outdoor seating. Extremely beautiful collection of glasses, I love glasses and agree with the Antiques Road Show that they are... More

Not that much to see. Quite a few rooms not opened. Very pretty garden to sit and have refreshments.

This smallish house was a family home for many years and still has a cosy and welcoming feel to it, underlined by family photos. It houses one of the finest private collections of English glassware . There is a small, well laid-out garden and a very small tea room which serves delicious home-made cakes and sandwiches

I don't know the criteria for the Trust taking a property on board, but why this? The house is nothing special and the garden too. The house contents are helped by bringing artefacts/collections from elsewhere but are otherwise unremarkable. I felt sorry for the NT volunteers who tried to bring something positive to the place.

A house beautifully set out with interesting rooms and lovely views from the Windows. It has a quaint charming garden at the back.

Quite a nice house, but have seen many much better National trust properties. Garden was below average and not really worth the time. Glad we didn't have to pay to get in! ( we are NT members.)

The house is now managed by the National Trust, so access is free to members. The interior rooms are nicely furnished depicting the period it was occupied, and as with most National Trust properties, there is always plenty of staff who are very knowledgeable and happy to share that knowledge. Outside there is a beautiful walled garden, at the far... More

This National Trust property packs a fair amount in. It pases an hour and a half delightfully. It is crammed with Netherlandish paintings, and has aspects which evoke previous occupants. The lovely ladies in the cafe ensure that the cream teas are dispensed with utmost efficiency- MUCH better than the chaos at some National Trust places. The old retainers staffing... More

This is well worth a visit, a must if you are National Trust members. The room guides are very helpful. The house is delightful and has a fabulous view of the Close. Lovely small garden.
