Please note Bowood House is currently closed for the Winter Season and will re-open on March 25th, 2016.

Renowned as one of the biggest and best adventure playgrounds in the South of England. Huge slides, rope walks, a large pirate galleon plus swings, flying foxes and the famous 'Drop' slide.

Set in a beautiful 2,000 acre country estate and the entry fee also includes access to Bowood House, gardens and famous 'Capability' Brown landscape.

There is also a superb hotel on the same estate making Bowood an ideal family retreat during the open season (late March - early November).

We've been here for two subsequent Saturdays and really enjoyed it both times. The Adventure Playground is huge, the surrounding areas are gorgeous and the whole place is beautiful and very well maintained. Not cheap but worth it. You can have a walk or let your kid play, have a picnic.

This is the only *bad* review I've left so far, I feel terrible but I left feeling ripped off so I had to warn others that may have smaller kids or 13/14 year olds! If you have 10 year olds they will love the adventure park! We went with two two year olds and a thirteen year old. The two... More

Informative staff in the house, with a wonderful exhibition of Capability Brown. We went for a wonderful wander around the grounds, weather was magnificent, the beautiful cascade on the way to the temple on the far sided the lake, with a beautiful view of the house. The Stables Restaurant serves delicious food, although the young staff were helpful but not... More

Actually visited here for Tractor Ted, deeply disappointed, thankfully our trip was redeemed by this adventure playground, how this much be so much fun for kids, truly a magical place, we loved it let alone our son! Fantastic place.

We thought the admission was a bit steep, £36 for a family ticket seemed a bit much having visited numerous country parks in Scotland where entry is either free or very cheap. After passing through the gate we went into some kind of farm area where there was a load of dilapidated kids tractors and go karts on a mud... More

Took my 6yr old granddaughter to Bowood and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We walked the gardens and round the lake to the cascade first and then onto the house. Elizabeth was in charge of the class mascot (Gruff)so he came with us and had his photo taken with the amazing Buddha statue in the house. We were both amazed... More

Everything was very nice at this park. I would definitely recommend it for families. However, AVOID the Stable Restaurant and bring a picnic lunch. The food was terrible. Over cooked and bland. The staff were very confused. It is a buffet style lunch. The staff dishes out one of three mains and vegetables. They had a hard time with this.... More

Walking around the grounds can be a challenge, especially the walk to Doric Temple along a loose stone path up and down slopes. The Cascade is accessed down a fairly steep grassy slope or through a cave area with an uneven rocky pathway. Inside the House there is little to see at ground level, just a few roped off rooms.... We were fortunate to have good weather, I can't see this place being great if it's raining. Bowood house is situated in green Wiltshire, and has lots of beautiful areas to picnic, 2 restaurants, lots of landscaped gardens and a beautiful lake in a picturesque English countryside setting. We came for a picnic but some others came to stay at... More

We arrived and as usual we get coffee and cake, however neither were very good in the cafeteria near the visitor entrance. The coffee cake was expensive and inferior and the lemon drizzle was ok and the coffee was not that great either. We visit a lot of National Trust, English Heritage, RHS and other private stately homes and this... More
