Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family...

Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of the most well-loved family attractions in Leeds and only three miles from the city centre. At Tropical World you can take a trek through the rainforest; stopping off briefly in the outback of Australia before a quick excursion through the desert, and all in the same morning!

It is home to some old friends that include rare birds, crocodiles, butterflies, bats, spiders, snakes and the meerkats - the cutest family in Leeds.

It re-opened in March 2015. This follows some stunning renovations that include the aquarium area transformed into a new Amazon themed zone where you can see new residents including piranhas and salamanders.

Leeds card holders get discount on entrance fees. The price for an adult without a Leeds card is £5 and I thought this was a bit high. The entrance is in the gift shop and seems back to front to me. It gets hot and some parts are smelly but if you like butterflies, fish, snakes and meercats you will... More

Called over late in the afternoon and had a great time. Only £5 entry and spend at least an hour an a half inside. Much bigger than expected and lots to offer! Gardens also lovely.

Visited on a warm day, which I wouldn't recommend! Was very good value £15 for family of four, really well laid out and the aquarium was amazing! Would return but in winter, to have a really good look in the warmer sections. The gardens outside are pleasant and there was a tree that was carved into all the animals which... More

Been here today with family, they loved it, it is actually quite nice to see all the mammals, creatures and animals. Lovely fishes and butterflies. It's quite time consuming so if you don't have at least 90 mins or so you will be struggling to complete the tour. I must say though that the facilities can be a bit better... More
