Abbey ruins set in park by river. On the flat so easy stroll along Tarmac paths. Across the main road is the Abbey museum great place for snack or full meal.

Really enjoyed wandering around these ruins and hearing the stories of the monks that lived there, there was a festival the day we arrived so there was plenty of delicious food to sample. I recommend a trip to this interesting place

This place is well worth a visit,both to the museum and cafe and then finish with a walk round the Abbey.It is lovely and on a nice day you would not find a better place to be.

Had a brilliant day out with the family and dogs, lovely place to visit especially when farmers market is on, tried the onsite cafe it was ok but nothing special.

Went to look at the market which is held at the Abbey the last weekend of each month from March to November. It was lovely held in the actual grounds of the Abbey. There is a wide range of stalls including food, cider, home wares...More

The Abbey is very atmospheric. Lovely park to have a picnic in. Parking a bit tricky. Gift shop not very inspiringMore

Stunning building been there since the 12th century. Surrounded by a public park, well kept grounds. Lovely tactile building!

You can take a bus from Leeds train station straight to the Abbey, it is the same bus that would eventually take you to the airport if you were to stay on it. It should be bus #757 It will drop you off right in front of the... More
