- Nicochapo5 contributionsNice venue, shame about the cafeLove the shops in here, day out slightly marred by the stupid petty seating policy at the coffee shop where they don't let you sit where you want. The waiter asked us to move twice and it wasn't even full so made no difference. Seats they moved us to were hard and cold - recommend you find somewhere more warm and accommodating.Traveled with friendsWritten January 21, 2023
- David HBury, United Kingdom1,584 contributionsHidden gemApproaching from the north side, there was just a small door leading to steep steps. It was only curiosity that led us to go up, but once inside it was amazing. A lovely round hall with a superb glass roof, and shops all around on both levels. We had a drink at the cafe in the centre, and a browse around the small shops, most of which are speciaility shops, and not cheap. We left through the main entrance, which has a lovely facia and is much more of how we expected it to look.Written November 7, 2022

Because I know you’ll see it and want it, I’ll want you that the Cookie dough is very sickly. Worth dropping in, as it’s free and you don’t have to spend money to enterTraveled as a coupleWritten October 13, 2020

This building caught my eye when it was lit up red the evening I arrived in Leeds. I was curious and visited the following day while out shopping. The building itself is lovely and the shops are great. Some boutique shops, my favorites were Released Records, Humpit and The Great Yorkshire Shop.
There were clearly marked entrances and exits with a one way system in place for the balcony. Hand sanitiser was available at the entrance of the building and each shop had some available as well. You are required to wear a mask in the building as well, apart from if you are eating. I had no issues with walking around and shopping here, I felt very safe.

I'm afraid my recent visit to Leeds Corn Exchange proved to be somewhat underwhelming.
Having visited the Corn Exchange on a number of previous visits to the city I was disappointed to see how far back it had gone. Many empty retail units within the building, a real lack of anywhere to enjoy refreshments, even a cup of coffee. I hope this building gets back to its former glory.

My twin brother Stephen and I chanced upon this great looking building as we were pub hopping around this part of town and what a great find.
Leeds Corn Exchange was constructed between 1861 - 1863 from designs from architect Cuthbert Broderick, a stunning Grade I listed building that is most definitely a well known landmark in the city of Leeds .
Now converted for speciality retail outlets, I just love the look of the building, it commands your attention, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Call Lane.

BRUSCHETTA - £2.20 for a tea bag slopped into a small cup of water. Utter rubbish. Probably the worst tea experience I've ever encountered. Note even great service.
Never going back to this cafe.
How about a tea pot with the offer of extra water. Wow, is that too difficult?
Yes, probably is for Bruschetta.

The circular domed building is a notable landmark in Leeds. The interesting interior of the building is well worth seeing. There are a few independent shops and a café.
At the moment the building is under utilised and not helped by the extensive roadworks in the immediate area.

Built in the mid-19th century, this circular Victorian-style building houses a number of independent fashion stores among others. It is worth noting the interior of the dome. It is located near the train station.

Another grand building in the city centre with a most amazing ceiling. The exchange is full of small independent shops of a wide mix. It was designed by the same person that designed the town hall and built in 1861 to 1863

When it was no longer required for its original use this building was converted to a space for small independant shops and workshops. The structure has a magnificent dome, and is beautifuly constructed inside. I hope that it is well enough supported that it will be prewserved.

Somehow I'd never been here before and I don't know why - it's amazing!
The building itself is stunning, especially inside. Every angle offered a different view.
It is colourful and vibrant and full of life.
The shops are independent - each one different, many of them selling specialist or quirky items.
We particularly enjoyed the plant shop upstairs, they were so knowledgeable about all the plants and we manged to find 2 rare plants we'd wanted for some time!
When we visited it was hosting a dinosaur from the Leeds Jurassic trail.

What an incredible place. The building is amazing and I loved all of the independent shops. I could have spent a fortune in there
It was a shame to see so many empty units but hopefully they won’t be empty for too much longer.
The cakes looked amazing from the coffee shop so I will definitely stop and have a coffee next time I’m there.
It is such an incredible building and the design is so well thought
It is definitely worth a visit
