Historic shopping arcade.

There are quite a few shopping arcades in Leeds ,very popular with the locals and visitors to the city, Queen's Arcade is one such shopping arcade my twin brother Stephen and I visited as we spent five nights in this wonderful city.
Constructed between 1888 - 1889 and named in honour of Queen Victoria who's Diamond Jubilee was in the year that the arcade was opened.
As you would expect, lots of retail outlets in here mostly all high street names ,there's also some fast food outlets and cafe's in here ,its a must go destination if you're planning on visiting Leeds ,we never shopped in here but we visited a cafe for a coffee which was a good experience.

Very Nice

Good to see an old arcade well looked after - not a great modern thing but tastefully maintained in it old fashioned way. Worth a walk through but look upwards!

Stunning Architecture

If you are going shopping in Leeds make sure you explore all the beautiful arcades through the city centre.

Queens Arcade is a particularly beautiful example. There are some really nice shops and the architecture is amazing. Make sure you look up and enjoy the beauty.

Before going to Geseppies restaurant in Huddersfield we went for a drink to the Queens bar in the imperial arcade they only have electric cask beer but carry a wide range of beers/ciders and lagers the atmosphere was great everybody was having a go singing with the help of karoki machine sorry about this spelling unsure of this. This was a pub with a mid to older age group but it was full and everyone was having a great time did not want to leave but had a table booked t giseppies but will be going more regularly now we have found this gem.

A bit of history.

Maybe not the oldest of the Victorian era shopping arcades in Leeds, but interesting architecturally and filled with small independent shops and boutiques. Main entrance is off Briggate. Lots of fine details.
