This is a good walk and takes you into the centre of Chichester from the south avoiding the busy ring road. There is a basin in Chichester with trips and cafes available. The southern part of the canal is inaccessible to through boats and we saw cygnets and other wild life. If you walk to the end at Chichester Marina a number 53 bus will take you back where you started.

Just walked the length of the canal from Chichester to the Yacht Marina King Fisher, Spotted Woodpecker and Grey Heron on the way. Having a brew at the Marina Cafe. The Chichester Canal is a wonderful place.

We walked the full length of the canal from the canal basin to the yacht basin and back. 8 miles in total. Had to divert at one point as work on the towpath between Hunston and the Donnington Road is in progress. Lots of Coot, Moorhen and Mallard but little other wildlife on this windy November day. Great view back towards the city from Hunston. Very few facilities along the way so you may need to be aware of that and be prepared.

Only a short walk from the railway station, the Canal and the Trust Centre is a haven not to be missed. Whilst we did not take a canal river trip, the information centre and cafe were a delight in the autumn sunshine. We did walk a mile or more along the towpath and then sat watching the Canal and the passing bird life both in the air and on the water. Not to be missed.

Enjoyed our trip on this lovely picturesque canal the crew were very helpful with information etc covid precautions were in force but that did not affect our trip. There were six of us on the boat plenty of room to observe the wildlife, fishing etc. We stopped off at the cafe before our trip cannot fault the service and cake we had so pleased to have supported this trust. A Popular little venue although parking was somewhat restricted but we managed.
