Enjoyable day at the Festival of Speed this year despite the poor weather (rained all day)
Plenty to see and keep you entertained for the entire day.
Watching the formula 1 classics driven was quite breath taking and a reminder of the superb sound they make.
The food is very poor and wildly over priced (£7.50 for a stale hot dog roll with a normal sausage and “crispy onions” which I witnessed being poured out of a jar so basically a cheap dressing) so I would highly recommend taking your own picnic and drinks.

We have been going for some years and there is so much on show for the motor enthusiast of 4 wheels or two. The area covered is vast over many acres including the car parks which can be miles from the entrance . There are tractors with trailers collecting people from the car parks and transporting them to the entrance. Manufactures have models on display from Rolls Royce to Ford. This year many electric versions were displayed. Sports cars from the 1900 to modern day are running up the track. There are loads of motoring related stalls including F1 merchandising on sale. Bonhams had an action of very desirable cars including an Aston Martin DB5 convertible for £1.5 million. So much to see and get involved with

Today I had the Spin and Slide experience at Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Despite the excellent Covid19 measures in place, all the staff managed to be very polite and professional, as well as managing to make me feel welcome and relaxed. Also offering complimentary drinks and snacks.
My instructor was friendly and informative. He made the next hour very easy and oh so much fun. It left me thinking, that if he does this for a job, what could he possibly do for fun that would top it.
As a driving instructor myself, I highly recommend this as, not only an exhilarating way to spend an hour behind the wheel but also as a valuable driving skill that everyone should learn.

Having paid £166 + £7 delivery for the roving grandstand ticket I was expecting to be allowed into at least some extra venues, when I presented my ticket I was refused entry to everything that was not accessible to the holder of an ordinary £100 cheaper track roving ticket. What had I paid an extra £100 for, it's a rip off, I got nothing extra over and above what I would have got with a regular ticket. When I returned home I checked the wallet my tickets arrived in, tucked tightly into the corner was a scrap of paper, apparently this thing that looked like a tiny parcel tag was my badge to enter some of the attractions, I was asked for a badge several times, a parcel ticket is not a badge. The simple answer and the one I thought was in operation was that the colour of my ticket indicated the places I could access, logical you would have thought? why where the roving and roving grandstand tickets the same Colour? There was no air show as I'd seen on previous visits and if you weren't in the main grandstand, there was nothing to see except an empty track for several hours as a number of events could only be seen from the grandstand, peddle car racing being the worst offender. The racing when it did happen was good and enjoyable to watch. This event used to be about cars and air displays, now it is a giant trade and car boot sale. Some of the traders were entertaining doing their best to make it a worthwhile event. Some of the people checking tickets were very rude and down right arrogant. I'd asked my neighbour if he would be attending this year, he said "no I was made to feel like a second class citizen last time I went", now I know what he meant. Sadly although I live near the track, this is the last time I will attend. I really didn't like being ripped off for £100 above the ticket price to receive nothing in return.

Ticket purchase procedure a total pain. Only after you have forked out to buy them online do you get an email about all the conditions you have to comply with. Like you will be refused admission if you can’t produce evidence of a negative Covid test within the last 48 hours, or proof of vaccination via the NHS App. Too bad if you don’t have a smartphone.

Had a long standing desire to visit this famour race track. Never been lucky enough to get Revival tickets, but visiting friends we drove past on 1st September and dropped in. There was a private track day underway, but we could walk under the track tunnel and stand in the pits, watch the cars go round and walk around the pit stalls.
It's like stepping back in time, and interesting with a classic Jag and a couple of old Alfa Romeos. It was interesting as there were lots of builders onsite working to complete things for the Revival in a few weeks time.
We feel in love with a modern Maserati that was lapping the circuit with some spirited driving, and sounded wonderful at full bore as it flew past.
Inspired now to get some tickets for 2022 Revival and return.

We visited Goodwood Motor Circuit for the Revival weekend in 2019 with our 9 month old & 13 year old in full period dress and it will take some beating for a family day out.
This is a very special place, and if you get it you’ll get it bad. Goodwood is a place where children large & small can make memories which last a lifetime.
If Goodwood Revival isn’t on your bucket list, then your list my friend is incomplete!

It was an excellent experience. The driver took me around to show me what I'd be doing and the minute I got in the driver's seat an the shut the door and i started to move off my adrenaline was right up there. To give feedback for next customer I would say don't use as much power as what you think, the cars are very powerful the slightest touch on the peddle will have you spinning the wheels. U'll love it. I want to go again.

Had the two car driving experience, despite the scorching temps was very well organised. Was very impressed with my instructor Dave Tyson who was in the Nissan GTR, made driving the track much more fun than in the ferrari earlier. Was a great day out recommend it.

Awful event. You have ruined a marvellous recipe. I am sitting on the banking waiting for a proper classic racing event yet after 6 hours have seen just 3 races interspersed with idiotic military parades, children's toys and worse of all, an exhibition of cycling.
We came to the first Revival and have attended more than half. Really frustrating and disappointing, and a waste of over 600 pounds.

How much roughly are the Goodwood festival of speed tickets for a day?
Thanks!

Hello,
I have been at the Goodwood Festival of Speed for three times. I had been there only for one day.
Next year I want to be the complete weekend at Goodwood. I have to travel from Germany and I have no car. Can someone tell me which is the best town to stay on the event and where I can find a cheap accomodation? The last years I have been in London Victoria and traveled to Chichester. But it was only for one day.
Thank you very much for your answer in advance.

Hallo zusammen,

Hi, I want to go to the Festival if Speed this year and I have a couple of friends from Germany who I will be collecting from Gatwick on the Friday.
I have looked at accommodation and naturally everything local appears to be booked out, so I am looking for viable alternatives?
So I have some special questions;
Is Brighton too far away with too much traffic in the morning?
At what time approximately to the roads around goodwood get jammed?
Do the entry tickets get sold out? We haven’t bought the tickets yet as we are still debating either 1 or 2 days entry but do we need to be in a rush to buy the tickets?
Thank you.

Very possibly a late answer but for next time. Tickets are only ever available online and they sell out months in advance. Brighton is way too far away, best to book around Goodwood or Chichester. Goodwood is nestled in country lanes, it gets really busy from first thing in the morning. Having said this, it is so worth it.

I’d like to buy tickets for the FOS 2020 for my partner. I’ve seen mixed reviews on whether one day is sufficient or if there’s enough to see and do for the entire four days. Thanks

I agree with PandLCheshire, it all depends on how much of a Motörhead you are. Maybe consider one day of time trials and one day of other attractions. Check their schedule. Have fun!

We are hoping to attend next year and looking at accommodation as we are from Devon. Is there a better location to be in for traffic in the mornings or is it pretty busy from all directions. I am not familiar with the set up so any advice appreciated. Many Thanks

Hi, one option you may consider is getting to Portsmouth, parking your car then taking the short train ride to Chichester, at which Goodwood has dedicated taxis at the train station to take you directly to the motor circuit via their dedicated lane. Very easy transfer and very little waiting. Also, if you have overnight accommodations a bit outside Chichester, you have many more choices and the cost is lower, just stay close to a connecting train. I hope this helps. C.

Looking to buy my husband tickets to goodwood festival of speed for his 40th but looking to make it that extra bit special by hospitality tickets, is it worth it and if so which area gives best value for money/views? Many thanks in advance, I have never been before and just want to make sure I get it right 😁

Definitely buy tickets for a seat in the stands. Make sure you are sat at least midway between the front and back of the stand. The weather was cold and wet when we went and we had heavy drizzle and high winds which blew the rain into the first 8 rows of seats and we got wet. Standing around the side of the track was 5 or 6 deep in places.
