This was a good museum. We enjoyed the video at the start and the excavated site. The excavation work was so well done and we really appreciate the opportunity and information provided. So amazing the history in the area. Really glad it's being maintained for future generations to appreciate and understand.

A very nice place with some great educational value, but there are some areas of the trip in which there could be some more active learning experiences, as opposed to lots of reading! However, it is a major place of historical interest.

Recommended without hesitation. The staff were fantastic at explaining about the Roman history and especially the mosaics, which were stunning. Really enjoyed our visit.

I went the Fishbourne Roman Palace hearing the place was really excellent. I have to say I was a little disappointed to say the least I love roman history but left after 20 minutes having not felt enough there to keep my interest up I felt it was more like a community museum who had landed a big dig the... We were having a pleasant time at Fishbourne, although Chedworth is better at bringing the past alive. Then a rude tour guide went out of her way to single us out as listening when we hadn't paid. This was in the large open public space and she was standing in the middle talking loudly--seemed to me you would have to... More

Although a lot of the original complex has been lost under modern development, the mosaics that remain rival those in Pompeii. Don't be put off by the "60's school" style museum buildings outside but go in and see the storage rooms and delve into the main exhibition too.

We had a great visit here. The site is well laid out and the mosaics are impressive. There were quite a lot of school parties there so it was a bit noisy at times, but as most of them are really not interested they tend to move on quite quickly. We went on the behind the scenes tour of the... More

We spent a wet and windy couple of hours at Fishbourne, so sadly could not enjoy the beautiful recreated gardens to the full, but the parts of the palace inside are easy to view from the ramps and platforms, and have helpful short explanation plaques throughout. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic about their site. Make sure you watch the... More
