Visit after Transport Museum
Sep 2019 • Solo
I had finally got round to going to the Transport Museum, as it was Heritage Week and it felt apt that on my way home I stop and have a look at this. Well kept statue in a small corner of the City. Not much to see but it only takes a minute when passing. Interesting mural on the way to the subway, which I only noticed recently.

City centre location this is a lovely statue and complements the city centre sky line. Clean and well looked after it is a fitting addition to the City. If you are in the city please check out the statue. You will not be disappointed.

Great thing to invent
Dec 2017 • Solo
I walk past this statue quite often and never really think to stop and look as it is a bit out of the way but to be fair this is something to be proud of, inventing the modern bicycle.

Monument to the inventor of the modern Bike
Aug 2017 • Business
Coventry engineers gave the world the bike as we know it and the jet engine. This monument celebrates James Starley who was responsible for the bike- Sir Frank Whittle has a statue within 5 min walk by the very excellent transport museum. See then all

Statue to James Starley Innovative Engineer
Jun 2017 • Couples
I went to Greyfiars Green this afternoon to show my wife the statue to this great City elder, but was unaware he had been moved and could not find him. My Mother stood me in front of him in the early 50s and told me about him, so knew where he should be! He deserves to be in a significant appropriate to his status! He made a substantial contribution to the people of Coventry, as well as being an exceptionally innovative engineer!

Situated in the wrong place
Feb 2017 • Family
You have to hunt hard to find this statue. It celebrates the inventor of the modern bicycle. The invention happened in Coventry. James Starley has a place in history but this statue has a place right outside the city centre on a hard to find pedestrianised walkway.

Good to read the info all about Mr Starley on the statue.

Interesting statue
Sep 2016 • Solo
I was wondering around Coventry recently and stumbled upon this statue. Until I noticed the statue, I had no idea the bicycle was invented in Coventry. The statue is also right next to a cycle path. It could have been placed in a nicer and more central location, but it is still a great thing to have in the city.
