Great service and beer choice.

Superb service and great beer! Arrived just as firework display at the rugby club was finished and 10 deep at the bar. The bar staff were so efficient I waited about 3 minutes! There were 2 staff on but they performed the work of 4!

Cracking selection of ales even bigger choice of ciders! Plenty of bottles if that is what you like too! Staff are always attentive and friendly. Our dog gets more attention than us but she deserves it :) Kids welcome too. Wont bust your wallet either which is ideal. What more could you ask from a nice hidden gem!

A nice comfy little pub.

We tried the Broomfield Tavern on Saturday afternoon/evening. We had booked a table in advance for 4.00 PM, and it was the last free table! They only have about eight, and all of them were either full or reserved. It was interesting to see people turn up, and be told, "Well you can have this table for half an hour until they turn up", and the punters being happy to comply.
In these days of table service, when you can't look at he bar to see what is available, there were mini menus pinned to the wall by the table for the real ales and ciders, and a big blackboard with the bottled beers displayed. Not being real ale or cider drinkers, we stuck to bottles and tins. The two different barmaids who served us were friendly and efficient, and took payment in cash or cards. Prices were fine, but went up when Peroni was ordered, naturally.
There was a nice chilled atmosphere, with no piped music, just conversation. The landlord lit an open fire later on, which added to the cosy feel. It is a dog friendly pub, and a large St Bernard was wandering around, which was fine by us. No sign of the alterations, but I think they will be to the back room where bands used to play
We were there for a pre-curry drink, so left before eight, and it was still busy then. If we had been staying for longer I might have tried some of the more interesting ciders on offer. We had a very pleasant few hours in the Broomfield, and I'm sure we will be back.

Poor Customer Relations
Sep 2020 • Solo
Well my first time in the place and won't be coming back in a hurry. Shame really as I live locally and it looks a nice little pub. Walked in with my Covid mask in hand as everyone inside had no masks on... I had Chris the bartender rush up to me like the riot police and tell me if I didn't put my mask on whilst standing I'd have to leave! I apologised and explained it was my first time, that I just wanted a table for 2 as I was meeting a friend for a drink. Apparently all of the over half dozen empty tables were booked... Quite hard to belive considering it was just over an hour to the 10pm covid curfew. I found Chris' attitude confrontational and lacking any good customer service.

Great real ale venue
Nov 2018
This is a great place to go if you are a real ale fan. Around 10 ale taps with a good range of ales and it's dog friendly too. I visited when attending a beer festival at the rugby club a few minutes walk away and was very impressed - it's like beer festival itself! I believe it also hosts live bands too. It's a wet pub (no meals) but all in all a fabulous place to visit for ale fans.

Proper Pub

I'm glad that places like this still exist. Despite the pub trade being tough with lots of good old fashioned pubs disappearing, this is a gem of a pub that caters for those who just want decent beer in a friendly and relaxed environment.
They also do a fantastic range of real ciders so it is truly a drinkers paradise.

Great little back street pub
Apr 2019 • Friends
There are a couple of other pubs in Butts End but this is easily the best. The range of beers and friendly staff make for a good night out and the only downside is the somewhat cramped room. It will be better when the presumably under development back bar is made more comfortable but it always seems difficult to get to the bar because of the narrow access when all the tables are occupied .

Smashing pub!

Unbelievable selection of cask ales, real ciders and world lagers. Very friendly and welcoming woman behind the bar who gave me two cider samples without me even asking. It is easy to see why this is such a popular pub with locals and visitors alike.

Best pub in Coventry
Mar 2019 • Couples
I can honestly say this is the best pub in Coventry and I’ve lived here all my life (45 years). The beer choice is very good, and the beer itself is very very well kept. My wife and I have been several times now and every time the welcome from the staff has been brilliant. We feel really at home here and the resident St. Bernard is a real bonus! A proper pub with proper beer and a proper welcome, it even has proper prices! Keep up the good work!!!

A secret gem, lovely warm people, a warm welcome and for those animal lovers, you get a cuddle with the worlds cutest St. Bernard (teddy). The choice of ales and ciders is amazing, definitely worth a visit or ten 😁 x
