We visited Coventry today after travelling from where we were staying in Dudley for a short break with the plan of walking along the canal from Coventry Canal Basin. When we arrived the area looked extremely run down and in no way inviting to visitors....More

Was so serene around here. Lots of little outlets to pop into and canal barges to view. So close to the city centre, but feels like a world away.

Even on our winter morning it was good to see this. I imagine it’s buzzing on a nice summer day. Canals were key to Coventry’s growth and certainly worth a visit and a stroll up the canal

The history involving the use of canals and barges in the area is important. However, at this point, though the buildings have been somewhat restored, they have few tenants, and the things to see and do there are limited. It is good to see the...More

Found this place by accident and was very disappointed to find nothing there but the only saviour was the cafe being open such a shame when you compare what Birmingham have done with their basin.

Well done to the group that saved this end of the line canal but there is nothing there. You might as well read about ir online. Even the Café was shut and this in the height of the season

They have done well to save the "end of the Line" but there is really nothing to see. Even the Café wasn't open and this is August!

We decided to visit the basin for a Sunday morning walk. We expected to find the shops and cafe open but everything was closed which was a shame. We walked for two miles down the canal and it was a pleasant experience as we saw...More

I know we visited in February, but virtually everything at the Coventry Canal Basin was closed - a bit of a wasted trip really. From what we had heard, we were expecting much more and thought it would be more interesting. Well worth an hour...More

From what I can find out this used to be a pub in the canal basin with live music but is now permanently close (googled information). I just went to the cafe at the 'amenities' end of the basin.
