The sun was shining so it was lovely to walk along the canal. A couple of barges passed us which added to it. on our return we had a drink in the little café overlooking the canal.

We arrived early in the morning and sat and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It is difficult to find and the traffic is unforgiving for making a wrong turn, but persevere and you will enter a secluded little world that defies all around it.

Just a short walk from the city centre. Really worth the effort to go there there are a few different outlets up there - it is very relaxing. You can eat, walk or just chill the time away. They do boat cruises or you just walk along the tow path.

We went for the steam rally where there was lots of good live music as well as steam driven traction engines and steam driven canal boats - great to see. Around the basin are workshops and places to eat and you can also stroll along the canal. Handy for the museums and churches of Coventry also

We picked up a canal boat here for a two week holiday from Excellence Afloat, which has a base in the basin. Whilst it's clear that there has been a great deal of tidying up done there are not enough businesses to turn the basin into a thriving centre, such as Gas Stree Basin in Birmingham. The absence of a... More

We arrived by boat thinking we'd be able to moor easily, as we had several years ago. BUT - you can't stop on the left outside the warehouse, and a hire boat company has appropriated what's left of the left hand arm. On the right there are 'No Mooring' signs, so there is really room for just two or three... More

This unique part of Coventry is one of its under rated gems. Leisurely watch the barges go by or visit the many craft shops en route.

Took a trip to the Basin on a breezy day. There are often narrow beam boats to watch as they come and go. Steeped in history and very relaxing. Lovely cafe at the basin and will be a lovely place to visit, sit and relax in the sun.
