This is a review of the park and ride service advertised from the war memorial park.

Do not use it!

It is serviced by the X17 stagecoach bus that only runs every 30 minutes.

The car park says ‘ask the driver for a discount ticket so you only pay £1 car park fee’ but when the bus eventually arrived the driver said he didn’t have any. He was given three at the start of the day and they were all gone (this was 2pm). I also couldn’t get a return fare, so it was a £2 ticket each single into Coventry.

When the time came to return home, we just walked back to the car park (taking us about 20 minutes). If only we hadn’t wasted time waiting for the bus in the first place and being charged for it.

The car park is free if you park for under 3 hours. So my advice is to park up, ignore the so-called ‘park and ride’ scheme and just walk straight down into the city centre.

The park itself looks like a nice big park.

This place is hughhh, split into three areas, plenty of car parking spaces lots of places to sit and enjoy the views plenty for all ages to do from kids park, foot golf , tennis to name s few. The memorial is clean and well kept, every tree has a small stone at its base with the name of a fallen hero on it. Sine beautiful artistic work outside the visitors centre , couple of lovely cafes and enough open spaces and wide paths for social distancing, can’t believe it’s in the middle of a Hugh city. A definite Gem in Coventry’s crown .

This lovely space near Coventry city centre has so much to recommend it and the new Mini Golf Course is so much fun but it's badly let down by the main toilets. The back of the cubicle doors were black and sticky and they badly need a makeover. They also shut at 4.30pm..not sure when the park closes but that seems far to early for summer days.

Although an official service has been called off I made my way to the memorial for 11 o’clock today to pay my respects and was surprised to hear a pipper and various forces laying wreaths and carrying flags. There were at least 200 people there which was nice and I always think a church type service is slightly ironic anyway.
Very moving during the 2 minute silence.

Well located (just a long walk from the centre of the city) and spacious area with some football pitches and tennis courts. There is War Memorial Monument (of not very pretty shape) in the central point of the park.
It is popular place for the locals and the place is rather crowded during the weekends - it would be nicer if all dog-walkers observe recommendation "keep your dog on lead".

The Park is large and has diverse areas offering a range of activities for visitors. The cafe has been revamped and relaunched as a bistro. It is decent but probably not meriting that title. The offering is of very standard cafe lunch fare. All okay. Popular

Took time out to go and see the new structures- Japanese garden, sensory garden and Labyrinth. No dogs allowed inJapanese or sensory garden- so can’t comment on the content. Labyrinth again no dogs allowed as you have to enter through the bowls gate. What I saw of it pretty poor - defined only by being outlined in paint on the grass. Could at least have been given a different surface. I thought it was going to be a hedge structure even if in its infancy. Rest of the park is as good as ever, once you have navigated the new pay car park.

Lovely area, free parking for first 3 hours and plenty of space. We sat for a few hours enjoying the sun and then got a drink from the cafe. Great for a cheap day out. Family friendly.

This is a splendid park, lovely and open with beautiful trees. Watching the seasons change at the park is a joy.
We mostly walk the dog at the park, but when the children were young the play facilities were and are great. Water park is good but that's when it's working!
We have visited the park all year round for years.
Also love the Cafe, best coffee, fab food and super cakes.

Ample parking despite it being a very busy Sunday afternoon. Although it was very busy it didn’t feel crowded. Toilets were clean. We had refreshments from 2 different cafes both, friendly & efficient.
It was a lovely place to spend a few hours wandering around.
