We were on a day visit to Coventry and enjoyed a visit to the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum. There really are some splendid paintings there and some very good sculptures as well. There was also a section on Lady Godiva which tells the well-known story vividly. This museum is well worth a visit though it does need a bit of TLC.

Had a grt time wondering arround this museum, enjoyed all that they had, not a grt fan of modern art but the ones had were really good an made me look carefully at the the way they were created an their thoughts behind the creation. The local history part was also enlightening, as never knew what was Coventry, was know for. Recommend at least a couple hrs, as is free admission donation is up to you which we did as appreciated wat was there.

I had a ticket for a private viewing of the Coventry Open exhibit before it opens for the public with a chance to cast a vote of what I thought was best. Some lovely pieces and I must admit some of it does go over my head but the people there seemed to like what they saw. Worth’s visit. Interesting to know who wins at the end of the exhibit, must keep an eye out.

Free and with lots of different galleries. Modern art, a room of old masters, some social history exhibits and an intersting take on displaying natural history items. A few interactive items. OK for kids and adults alike.
