you can't just pop into this shop. Once you step over the threshold you're instantly taken back to your childhood and can't resist saying " I had one of those" at virtually everything you see. A wonderful little shop ... Make sure you pay it a visit 😄

Really amazing shop! The name of the shop is so apt as everything in there makes you say “I had one of those..” the sweet range is superb, old fashioned quarter bags and the only place I know of that sells pineapple rock!! We regularly go in for the sweets but there are so many items that catch your eye and give you a real nostalgic feel.. really worth a visit if you are in the area👍🏻👍🏻

A hidden gem tucked away on a side street in Kings Heath. A guaranteed warm and friendly welcome for everyone. A fun shopping experience which offers an extensive sweet and gift selection. Something for everyone surrounded by a mini museum of retro nostalgia.
Shop is also very family friendly, toys to play with outside and fun events like Halloween activities. A valuable part of my local community, I honestly can't think of another shop that comes close.

5 reasons why I love this shop:
1. Retro toys, bags, mugs, sweets, gifts, nik-naks all in one place - great for birthdays and Christmas!
2. Fantastic sweet selection: from quarter jars to mix-up bags to special gift packs; and the owners/ staff will get you any mix you want, even if it's 30p worth, with no fuss
3. The staff are really friendly and helpful and great with kids- they also don't expect kids (and adults) to come into a shop like this without touching stuff
4. The window displays are great - halloween, retro comics, Christmas. Last year's Christmas window won a local competition and it was snowy and lovely!
5. There is a real community spirit: toys such as skipping ropes are usually in a basket outside the shop for kids to pick up and play with as they pass, and the seasonal treats such as the fancy dress halloween evening (free sweets, popcorn machine and horrible things to touch) were loved by local kids. Yes all these things help draw in customers, but good! They keep the shop open and I love the fact that children will have memories of this place as they grow up.

Ever dreamt of the perfect sweets, toys, games and gift shops, turned a corner off a high street and found it? No? Well, if you're fortunate enough to be near to this one, or you're invited to lunch at a restaurant in York Rd, don't miss it. It's full of goodies: traditional sweets sold by the quarter in paper bags, loads of those games we used to play before colour TV, masses of really unusual gifts - you could browse in there for half an hour or more and you won't want to leave. The staff are really enthusiastic about the place, and with good cause. The only caveat is: set yourself a budget before going in, because I've been in for one thing and come out with ten - the merchandise is so tempting as to be irresistible! You don't always get the best stuff online, and this shop proves it.

Great little shop off the high street in kings heath, Birmingham.. All things you remember from the past (Toys, cards, games, postcards, sweets etc).. Friendly staff and plenty to see.. They even display 'donations' you bring in from your own past and so other people can enjoy them also...
