I just went on to the website and saw this had closed for good. Im gutted cos I went here twice and considered going again. It was a great attraction and there was plenty to see. The model railway sets were amazing. I think it was hidden away in a quiet part of Birmingham and wasnt publicised very well. Its a real shame.

Great place for young at Heart and the young
Nov 2016 • Couples
I was told about this place by my Nephew, who took his two boys which are both teenagers all enjoyed there visit, so we took his word, saying it was worth a visit.
I most say it's lives up to it's name wonderful, I was able to relive my youth and play with the trains and the scalextric. the layouts were very good covering different counties and also the all time favourite Thomas the tank. the flight simulators were good, not to difficult to operate, so kids can have a go. I will be recommending this place to friends. We both enjoyed the whole time we stayed there, and hope that it does well

Great place to visit
Oct 2016 • Family
Myself and 3 other adults made the journey with 3 children aged 3, 5 and 8 to see what this place was all about. Having read good reviews we thought it was a good place to visit during October half term.

Location is very good, we got off at Snow Hill train station (use the back exit) and found it a matter of few hundred meters away. Tickets can be bought online at a reduced rate but I had also found a voucher to use that gave us 30% off for travelling by public transport. This took our entrance price to well under £30, a good price for a place like this.

The shop and cafe is located on the ground floor. There is also one exhibition plus other materials but the bulk of it is upstairs. The next floor has a good array of planes and train exhibits to see. Some of these are interactive for adults and children to use. The scenes are all very different but the level of detail is fantastic. My nephew, who is 5 and had autism loves trains so loved watching them go round the track. This is also where you can fly planes using a simulator, this is better for adults and older children. For the younger children there is a colouring and play area.

The next floor up has got a big race car track to play with plus train exhibits which are complete and part complete. I really like the mountain range with the clouds above. The one they were building looks like a ice area, I think that will look really good. It is here that you can learn to drive a plane. All adults tried at some point, my sister being the only one who did it well.

We returned downstairs and browsed the shop, they stocked a good range of items with varying price ranges. My nephew was beginning to play up (as he was tired) so we left. In total we were in there around an hour and a half.

As adults we all really liked it and the children did too. I, not being a big train enthusiast was very surprised by it. As mentioned above the level of detail is amazing. I also liked that they had the interactive areas plus the play area for smaller children.

Highly recommended place to visit

travelled in by car, parked in cambridge st car park. 10 min easy walk [ street parking time limited]. welcoming staff, plenty of exhibites and hands on for all ages. clean cafe with enough to keep you refuelled during your stay. we spent 3 hrs although it was not too busy so we could have plenty of time on chosen exhibits. staff on hand to help set up computer simulators [very patiently].finally left near closing time. but we will be back soon.ps. book on line and save on admission fees. very reasonable.

Not what i expected
Oct 2016 • Family
I thought there was going to be lots to do for a few hours but our nearly 5 year old and I were only there for just over an hour. It is better suited for older children as the models cannot be played with and there is a lot of information that is interesting but not for young children.

Son and I enjoyed it
Oct 2016 • Family
It was something different to do and my son enjoyed controlling the trains and driving the Scalextric cars round the track. However the website says 'largest range if Scalextric sets in birmingham'. Unfortunately this is. It true, there are only 3 different sets, but a number of cars though. Larger range of Scalextric sets at Argos!!! Good trip out overall though.

An amazing suprise
Oct 2016 • Couples
A fantastic place to go for anyone with even a vague interest in planes or trains or models. As a model railway enthusiast my partner knew I would enjoy seeing the layouts which I did. The surprise however was that my favourite part of the visit was the flight simulators. I had great fun taking off and landing a plane. The museum owner was very helpful and showed me how to fly. It is worth noting in order to manage expectations that a boing flight simulator costs hundreds of thousands of pounds. The museums simulators are therefore PC based but with the authentic controls of an aircraft.

It is interactive with lots of activities for children including an I spy card for finding certain models on the model railways.

Considering this is a private run place it has a fantastic amount of models to showcase. It is also evident that the people who work or volunteer there are passionate about what they do.

I fully recomend a visit.

A family day out
Oct 2016 • Family
We decided to have a family day out together as it had been a while since the last one and as our Daughter has a huge interest in trains and cars we thought this place was the perfect choice and we were pleasantly surprised a great little attraction for the kids and bigger kids (Me)!!.
The café is well suited for people on a tight budget it's very clean and the food was very good.
I can definitely recommend this for a trip or part of a big day out for families we will return once they have completed some more of the model railways.
The staff are very knowledgeable and very friendly what more can you ask for really.

A Pleasant Surprise for grandson
Oct 2016 • Family
Spent almost all the day here with our 4 year old grandson. There are 3 floors of hands on exhibits for all. Fly a plane with the flight sim, drive a train with the train sim, race against others with the Scalectrix. Operate the model trains with the controllers. Learn about the history of flight.
There is even a cafe which serves very enjoyable food.
All the staff are excellent well mannered and polite.
All knowledgable and have so much patience for the old, young and clumsy like me, alike.

Only down side. Parking is 2 hours maximum on the street parking so why not park in one of the larger car parks and get the pleasant tram ride to St Pauls.

A "Wonderful" family visit
Oct 2016 • Family
We went on a Saturday and my Grandchildren ages 5 & 2 had a wonderful experience. It was very reasonably priced and every member of staff without exception were there to help the children and also the grown ups enjoy it. There is plenty of hands on models for the children to control whether it be the large Scale-electric track or the different railway lay - outs. Our 5 year old enjoyed driving the train simulator programmes. There is a quiet corner for little ones with a Brio railway track to play with and also lots of colouring to do. We were there 3 hours and didn't even have a go with the flight simulator.
The café was very good with sandwiches & toasties etc for adults and also beans or hoops on toast for children, all nicely served at very reasonable prices.
The whole place was very clean with toilets on every floor.
Yes this is work in progress & yes we will be going again.
We aren't local to Birmingham and got there by train & tram
