We visited on 'Tudor Day', which was absolutely brilliant! There were some really fun activities put on for the children to enjoy and we loved seeing people dressed up in Tudor costumes. The little baby wearing her Tudor clothes inside the house was so adorable!
The staff especially were truly lovely and made us feel especially welcome with a massively warm smile when we arrived, despite probably having done that a lot on the day. The exhibitions inside the house are well done with just enough information to learn something new and not be too overloaded.
There was a bit of a wait and a big queue in the coffee shop for just two lattes, but it was a busy day. Toilets and the house itself are really well kept. The Visitor Entrance looks smart and the Gift Shop has a decent selection of Birmingham related items. Parking is free on-site.
I would recommend visiting when there a special event on, such as 'Tudor Day', as the house and gardens are relatively small compared to something like nearby Coughton Court.
It's remarkable that it has survived so long. Our family ticket for the day and entrance to the house cost just £12 for all of us, which was an absolute bargain in these challenging financial times. Well done to Birmingham City Council and the staff here for keeping such a gem alive. We will return!

We had our wedding here and it was the perfect location. So beautiful (especially with all the flowers in bloom)! There is a choice of two locations and we chose the barn which seats 60. We had full access to the grounds all day, and paid a little extra to open up the house for tours during the cocktail hour.
Guests loved it, we loved it. Laura and Suzanne were absolutely PHENOMENAL! They helped us bring our vision to life, and were brilliant when we had a bit of a disaster (the caterers not showing up). If you want to get married somewhere with a relaxed feel that you can make your own, we would HIGHLY recommend Blakesley Hall :)

We come here often and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. There is a teacher that comes in for certain events and is very knowledgeable on many topics, the hall is only open for special events right now but does many things for the children over the school holidays including arts and crafts, teddy bear picnics and jewellery making for around £2 per child. Outdoor seating area for picnics and a great Tudor hall (admissions apply), a tea room and a barn where many events take place. Also has a lovely herb garden.

We had a fantastic morning at Blakesley hall. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. It was clean, well resourced and informative.
We listened to a story telling session hosted by Phil. It was entertaining, pitched well, fun and engaging. Phil was a brilliant story teller and ensured that all of the needs were met by his audience. He had a lovely, warm tone while telling the story and also including lots of history.
The gardens are lovely and the family room has some excellent, hands on resources for children.

Excellent tour of the house - today’s theme and talk was about ‘Women in Tudor Times’ as it is International Women’s Day this month. Friendly and incredibly knowledgeable volunteers and staff.
House is run by the council but they have teamed up with the National Trust enabling half price entry - well worth £7 for two adults.
Had the cream tea in the Herb Cafe. Very well presented with really friendly staff. Would thoroughly recommend.
A hidden little gem of a property.

Our (volunteer) guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, full of fascinating details and anecdotes. The contents of the hall had been collected from a variety of sources and had an interesting history. The hall is an example of what can be done with relatively little but with a big dose of enthusiasm. Sadly, the gardens had been neglected but hopefully can be given some TLC also.

My daughter phoned. 'Mum, do you want to go to a wedding fair?' 'when,' I asked, 'Now,' she replied. So I declined a lift and caught the bus. I used to live near here. I loved seeing this building, attending exhibitions, wandering round the house. I must admit in 15 years in the area I hadn't visited as often as I should have. I attended more often when I lived in north Birmingham. Anyway I wandered through the familiar st, passed the house outside which I found the baby doll, glanced across at my previous flat and headed for Blakesley Hall. The exhibition, the first of its kind was an Alternative wedding fair. It was all about recycling and upcycling. Selling your wedding dress. Oh dear. Natural wedding with non disposables or reusable items. Vegan and vegetarian food. That where I met Sue again. She'd been running Pacha House in Moseley for 4 years. Natural hygiene toiletries. Home made without chemicals. Decorations made at hen parties. I hope to attend another one of these events. Where better to have it than a historic building with ancient apple trees, wild flower and a barn?

Visited this Tudor House and part of International Women's Day for a tour about Tudoe Women. Fantastic visit where history brought to life by period costumed guides and in particular Shirley who kept our small party wonderfully engaged.

July 26th 2008, we got married here. We got married in the barn and it was a beautiful Hot day. The service was beautiful.
The staff were attentive and were on hand throughout.
The hall was closed to the public which gave us full access to the gardens and could have beautiful photos.
