We arrived for toboggoning today but I had managed to get the time wrong and arrived when we were due to finish!! The guys were fantastic and said they could still fit us in. We were really grateful and had a really fun time. Us older ones all had a tube and little one had a sledge. So funny and half an hour is more than enough time as its so tiring from going up the slope and laughing so much. Really recommend for a fun family activity and the staff were more than helpful and accomodating. Will be back again soon and definitely on time next time :-)

Penguin kids ski lessons done for my 5 yr old twins from absolute beginners. The slope is fab. All the teachers are amazing and staff in general couldn’t be friendlier. Once I rushed to get the kids to a booked lesson so hadn’t planned to ski myself... One of the instructors lent me his own ski salopettes so I could ski while the kids had their lesson!! So very lovely. The lesson standards are really amazing and often the class numbers are tiny/just my pair. Even when at full (6) each child was kept busy and the teachers juggled all the kids with ease. Some instructors are older and some younger and all fab. Really great to have the mix. People complain about dry ski slopes but they are great considering the alternative is further away and rammed with people (Tamworth) and far more expensive. My kids have really grasped it after moving up the levels and now have a very confident style and love going fast. The sledging is also fab. Separate slope for this with plastic sledges or snow tubes. This was how we introduced the kids to the concept, they did this, saw a few lessons and decided they wanted to try to ski. I’m so sad not to be able to go due to the covid situation. To totally understand of course though and can’t wait for it to reopen once it is considered safe. You can also buy packages to save money. You get a code to use for 6 sessions or lessons. Love it here. A real Birmingham gem.

Took two children age 5 and 7 and they had a nice time tobogganing for an hour. A couple of things let it down. Firstly on arriving the grounds are full of fly tipped rubbish. The ramp allows a range of ages and was spoilt by older children refusing to use the ramp and walking straight up the slope. Ramp not supervised by staff so they just spoilt everyone’s enjoyment.

I have learnt to snow board and rock climb over the last 25 years or more at the Ackers as have my children. I am a school ski trip leader and it is now my grandson's time to learn to ski prior to a school ski trip at Easter. He had a great time. Mark is an excellent ski instructor. He was patient, encouraging and with a great sense of humour which put the whole group at ease. Clearly safety conscious and loving his job. My grandson made excellent progress and was extremely excited to go back the following week. The ratio of instructor to learners was 1:12 but a second instructor/helper was also with the group which pushed them on well, allowing the class extra go's to practise. I have already encouraged all non skiers on my up-coming ski trip to have the 4 stater lessons at Ackers before the trip if they possibly can to add to the fun of the trip itself.
