Visited this pub on Saturday, after watching my team at Birmingham City. It is a proper old fashioned community pub, with an excellent range of beers, mostly by the black Country brewery, the landlord, and locals were friendly, and you don't feel out of place here on your own, I had a pint of, mild, and a pint of porter, both of which were well kept, its well worth going a bit out of your way to visit this establishment.

We found this charming little pub on our first visit to Birmingham. Lost travellers we were guided by a verry Helpful and friendly barman. Without ostentation, there are well kept ales, a lovely atmosphere and cleanliness inside second to none.

Visited August 2021 on the BCA ale trail. A super, old fashioned corner pub. The Hung Drawn and Portered from North Cotswold was absolutely first rate. The landlord was a friendly bloke and the staff were all pleasant. A must visit pub, certainly one of the best new to me boozers that I've been to recently.

The Craven Arms Pub is a fantastic pub that my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into as we were wandering around this part of town and what a great find.
Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is as good as it gets ,the main room is dominated by a solid wood serving bar, fantastic period decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, one of the most distinctive features of the pub is its fabulous tiled exterior, simply exquisite, on my twin brothers Stephen and mine five day stay in Birmingham we visited some really fantastic pubs and this was one of the finest we visited.
We were here on a Wednesday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, after a quick study of their real ale's we both opted to have Black Country Ales Brewery " pig in the wall ale " ,these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My ale was really good, a crisp,well balanced ale,hints of caramel, very easy to drink, a real ale style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of.
We both really enjoyed our real ale's in this fantastic pub before we moved on and for a first time visit to here we had a great time.
The Craven Arms Pub is easy to locate along Upper Gough Street.
Openings hours are;
Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm.
Friday & Saturday, Midday till Midnight.
Sunday, Midday till 10pm.
A great pub ,well worth checking out if you're in the area.

One Of The Best In Birmingham.

The Craven Arms Is Without Doubt One Of The Best Pubs We Visited On Our Five Day Trip To Birmingham.Housed In A Fantastic Grade II Listed Building And The Pub Itself Can Be Traced Back To 1838 Through The Photographs Taken Over The Years.This Is A Brilliant Pub And Restored To Its Former Glory By Black Country Ales And The Pubs Exterior Is Excellent With A Blue And Gold Glazed Tiled Facade With The Holders Ale Brewery Signage On Prominent Display As This Brewery Owned This And Many More Pubs In The Birmingham Area Many Years Ago.The Interior Is Great With A Very Light Cream Walled Paint Scheme And Intricate Wood Bar And Panelling And Superb Light Fittings And Many Interesting Fixtures And Features Relating To Its Former Past.While Walking Around This Area We Visited This Superb Pub And What A Pub It Is.On Entry We Gave Our Track And Trace Details And Took A Seat In One Of The Booth Seating Areas Of This Pub And Then Ordered Our Beers Which Were A Couple Of Glasses Of Black Country Ales Pig In The Wall Ales An Excellent Ale Well Served And Priced.This Is An Excellent Pub And I Would Say About The Best Pub We Visited As The Pub Itself Is A Joy To Visit And The Barman Was An Excellent Host And Made Us Feel Really Welcome.We Also Met The Owner Of Craft Inn In This Fine Pub Who Was A Very Nice Man And Who's Craft Beer Bar We Went To The Next Day.All In All A Great Pub With A Superb Barman And Well Worth A Visit.An Easy Pub To Find From Ernest Street Bus Stop Walk Along Holloway Head And Take A Left Turn Onto Blucher Street And Walk Down To Upper Gough Street Or A Couple Of Minutes Walk From New Street Train Station.(This Is My First Review Of The Craven Arms).
Opening Hours.
