    Breakfast with Santa 2023
    Overall this experience was very lovely which is why I’ve given this 4/5. But.. My main critic would be that this was soooooo rushed. So much so that one family requested to have their food wrapped and taken home because we were not given enough time to eat. We were advised to arrive ten minutes early at 8.50. At 9 we had an elf come to the shutters of a closed store telling us they didn’t know how to open up. We were seated at 9.10 in Fumo (which was decorated festively). So far ten minutes lost and 20 minutes of unnecessary standing around waiting. We were offered basic tea or coffee which was served cold. I requested another and was given tea instead of coffee. The server ran off so fast I couldn’t alert them. Once I got someone to come over they tipped the tea over the table and (without mopping it up) put a fresh cup down of yet again cold coffee. This is 3 times! This is supposed to be a high end place and a server can’t clean up spills or even achieve HOT coffee. Gregg’s can manage this! We then had to eat 3 courses and finish drinks within 45 mins whilst also having entertainment interruptions. So we got first course at 9.15. Third course served at 9.50. Within ten minutes we were asked to go downstairs for Santa’s story. Food was left uneaten no coffee was had (no apple juice was seen either just orange as suggested on the menu). The entertainment was lovely overall but given the time frame it placed a lot of limitations on everything. I didn’t want to complain or we would have missed out on things and I didn’t want to spoil the experience for our daughter but for paying over £100 for this there is definitely room for improvements.

    Great makeup advise and excellent service
    Went to the store to shop for make up and very grateful for the service Nafisa provided. I explained I had a bold blue/violet outfit with antique silver sequence and she guided me on best lipstick and liner plus eye make up. She explained how to create a smoky eyes . Thanks to Nafisa for helping me to complete my whole look. Excellent service would highly recommend Nars counter. The staff are brilliant.

    Exceptional Service at NARS (Birmingham)
    I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful staff at NARS @ Selfridges in Birmingham. We went on Sunday 2/6/24 it was my sisters birthday and they made her feel really special. My sisters and my niece travelled from far, my daughter and myself were local. We were all greeted with a smile it didn’t feel like it was a chore for them. The beautiful, professional, kind and understanding Vanessa helped me choose the right foundation and primer. She was so patient and listened which usually a lot of people find hard to do. She asked me my issues and what outcome I would like. I literally felt like crying as o had such a bad experience at anothet counter. I explained my health and medication to Vanessa and she very nicely explained everything in detail to me. We discussed skin care so that Vanessa can understand my skin so that she can suggest the right foundation and primer. Vanessa is an excellent asset to your team. All the staff worked as a team. The team morale was exceptional and customers can pick that up. They were very kind and polite. Having this first class service makes my family and myself want to go again. She really lifted my self esteem. Vanessa also was so helpful when she was attending to my sister didn’t rush her though it was coming back up to closing time. Vanessa went above and beyond the call of duty. May I add that Dylan and Olivia again excellent customer service they provided to my sister, my daughter and my niece. So informative and again very patient. Jas was also very helpful and the other staff also very good but I didn’t get there names. Vanessa, Dylan and Olivia were not phased at all that there was a group of five and treated all as an individual. They did not rush us. We all left with big smiles and our self esteem boosted especially mine. They all deserve a treat or a bonus. We definitely will be going back. We were still discussing the first class service we received later that evening at dinner.

In the changing room trying something on my granddaughter and a male assistant walked in. Not at all happy about a man in a female changing area; particularly when children are likely to be in there. Besides that the building is just hideous. The cladding on the outside looks like a dirty giant golf ball but what concerns me is if it is fireproof. My friend lives in a flat that went up at the same time this was built and has a similar type of cladding on the building....he now has to pay £30,000 along with all the other residents to replace it. I also find Selfridges very restricted in variety and for more expensive than it used to be - must be the high rents!

The security guard, seemingly of African descent, middle aged and tall has persistently harassed me every time I enter the bullring selfridges store. He circles around me, making suggestive facial expressions and trying to force aggressive eye contact. I have reported this to selfridges numerous times and they refuse to address this intimidating abs bullying behaviour. It’s completely unacceptable and reflective of the poor behaviour standards and terrible customer service levels. This occurred again on 05/02/22 around 16.20 on floor 3.

Purchased a pair of Christian Louboutin kate 100 for my wife, she tried them on but found she couldn’t walk in them as the heel was too high, so I purchesed the kate 85. The 85 were perfect for her, she could walk in them no problem. I returned the kate 100 fully expecting a refund. I then received an email to say rejected as they had been worn, Now the only time these shoes were worn were for my wife to try on, she didn’t walk outside, she tried them on in the living room. It is over a week since my original email complaining of the rejection. I was informed that it would be looked further in to, and then I receive an email again today to confirm the rejection, stating images attached for you to view, well there was no images attached so I’ve requested them and had no reply. So I’m £645 down because my wife tried the shoes on in the living room, if I’d have gone to store she would tried them on then, so does that mean she would have been charged for them then? Or is it just the fact that there a bunch of jobsworths on the end of a computer choosing to reject online orders as there is no confrontation on the end of a keyboard. I’m absolutely livid and feel like I’ve been well and truly done by selfridges, the customer service is appalling, the timescales of replying is appalling, and the whole experience (which should have been a special one for wife) has turned into a right shambles. Beware when ordering footwear because if you try them on and they don’t fit, you’ll be screwed trying to return, I expected better, I expected a smooth and happy experience, obviously I expected too much from this shabby outfit

Visited prior to the latest changes in covid and disappointed to say the least.

Whilst the shop itself appeared clean over 50% of the staff on the mens floor that should be wearing masks were using them as chinstraps. This effectively makes the mask ineffective.

Needs management to be undertaking spot checks.

I have never felt such disrespect as a customer as I’ve felt in here. From the minute we walked in we were judged on our appearance by the bat tender. We had to ask for a menu 3 times for his response to be “are you ok?”. We then had to ask for the bill twice but was ignored and then had to ask another member of staff. The bill was then brought over with a service charge included, we all paid for our drinks separately. I was presented with the card machine as I was last to pay with the service charge included, which I then told the bartender I did not want to pay it as the level of service we received wasn’t worth paying for. I was then told “well you should’ve told me that before I brought the bill” to which I replied “ we weren’t aware of a service charge” he then continued to argue with me on the fact I hadn’t pre-warned him I didn’t want to pay the charge (that we weren’t aware of). He then started discussing with a colleague in a foreign language to which I told them if they have something to discuss please could I be involved, I was then told “are you calling me rude”. The whole experience was such a disappointment where I would just like to pre-warn anyone if you don’t look like you have money then you’ll be treated with disrespect.

It’s still a nice store split across 4 levels, but doesn’t have the same product and services offering that they have in London or Manchester.

On the ground floor are a couple eateries, ie Pret, Lola’s cakes a few burger joints, a couple of Asian, and food stalls selling some unusual ingredients.

On the fourth floor you can find Tiffany’s, Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Kurt Geiger plus many more with their own separate personal shopping service and area.

A nice shopping area that is a massive and unrecognisable change to the Bull Ring that I remember during the 1990’s.

No more curry patties or saveloy and chips being served here

I visited the Chanel makeup counter instore to do some Christmas shopping this week and was shocked at how rude and dismissive the lady on the counter was. I made a purchase and then had a quick browse and was literally shooed on, and told "we're not doing a champagne service tonight"(??) Now I know these ladies make their money on commission, and it was later on in the day and maybe she'd had a long day but seriously rude attitude going on there. All I can say is what a shame John Lewis has shut as the staff there were always very friendly and helpful. I've always supported this store but will be going elsewhere as this ladies attitude really put a dampener on my visit.

Unbelievably bad service!!
I ordered 3 pairs of trainers however, only one paired arrived. The other two pairs were cancelled due to not being in stock. This was 3 weeks ago and I’m still outstanding my money of which was taken straightaway! Every time I call no one seems to be in a position to refund my money!

Bottom line is………I’ve paid over £300 to Selfridges for some items I haven’t received and they have not given me my money back! I struggle to understand the logic.

Had the most amazing experience at the MAC Cosmetics counter yesterday, I was accompanied by my mum and a friend. Jack, was so helpful and I really appreciate his knowledge in helping me to find the perfect shade of foundation which is often very difficult. I really hope he sees this because he truly deserves to see that his wonderful customer service has not gone unnoticed. Thankyou so much!

Just popped to the Kristy kreme stand and asked what drinks they have, literally no answer just got pointed at some drinks. Then I asked a further question about the price of some donuts, again another staff member abruptly rude. Absolutely did not want to buy anything because they made me feel like the biggest inconvenience to them so just walked away. Rude rude rude! And will not be going back to that concession. There was no other customers there, no one sitting down, no one else in the queue so they weren’t even busy. I can see why now because they literally talk to you like crap.
