Worth a visit
Sep 2018 • Solo
I took a tour round here during Birmingham Heritage Week. Although I had walked around here before, it was so much more interesting with the guide who had expert knowledge of the history of the JQ and those interred here. It would be difficult to find the graves of some of the more famous as they are surprisingly modest such as that on Joseph Chamberlain.
Also resting here is the grandfather and other family members of JRR Tolkien and Alfred Bird whose Custard Factory was in Digbeth. It’s still there but home to small shops and businesses.
History of the catacombs here is interesting too.

Very Calming Place
Jul 2018 • Solo
A wonderful old cemetery, I took a guided tour of this place so that I could get some the history. There are some very interesting people laid to rest here and some fascinating history. After the tour I wander around for quite a while and found it very calming and peaceful not at all creepy or scary.

Atmospheric cemetery

I went here after warstone cemetery. It has very mature trees and is very shaded by them and quite atmospheric. Historically its interesting but it could easily be a little creepy at twilight. I am looking forward to visiting in autumn when the leaves turn.

Calming

Well worth walking around as its in the centre of Birmingham and very peaceful, it's a step back in time. It would be better if the major burials were shown on a map board.

Peaceful
I visited this cemetery after I had been to the coffin works museum and pen museum as I used to walk through it when I lived in Hockley many years ago, nothing has changed. This is an oasis on a busy ring road. You would not believe until you are inside how quiet it is. Very interesting to look at all the different people who are buried here. A beautiful place on a sunny day.

Beautiful and Historical
The peaceful non conformist Victorian cemetery is perfect for an afternoon stroll. Reading the tombstones almost gives on a sense of the people interned there. The place is rich with history. I would definitely visit again.

Great cemetery.

As I explored this historic cemetery, I felt a creeping sense of dread and unease. Who was that lady walking her dog? Why did she disappear as soon as I said "Hello?" And just WHO was that lone soldier smoking a cigar by the catacombs? He doesn't show up in any of the photos I took, and yet one of the photos shows a girl who I didn't see at the time. Interested in contacting any ghost hunters or folks interested in the supernatural. I have tried to interest my wife, but she remains apathetic. A lovely day out but bring your own sandwiches because there is no cafe on site.
