We visited here for a walk around the park and a quick bite to eat. We had not visited the cafe before, it appeared clean and there was plenty of places to sit. We ordered 2 toasted sandwiches which were lovely and 2 pieces of cake which again was excellent. Overall I thought the food was great and value for... More

The building is located in Canon Hill Park - opposite Edgbaston Cricket Stadium. It has something for everyone. An excellent refreshment area the food is very good value, cinema and various other attractions. However, I must draw everyone's attention to the Barbra Walker (Artist) shock and Awe Exhibition - this portrays the brave men and women of Africa who volunteered... More

What a great place to watch a gig or a play. This is a great contradiction of a setting - the water and park beyond, then a concrete stage and semi circle of stone seating. So arty, and a perfect place to watch something intimate, especially in the summer although shows go on whatever the weather. There is a reasonably... More

A family trip to the Mac and Cannon Hill Park to celebrate the new Birmingham Mayor. Nice to see a high level of investment in the park that really adds extra dimension without spoiling the park as a whole and not turning it into a theme park! the Mac itself is starting to really find its feet after its major... Having not visited MAC for many years I enjoyed my afternoon watching the film last Tuesday and my sandwich (Brie,Tomato & Basil £2.25) and double espresso (£1.95) before were very good and good value. I will certainly visit again and make the effort walking around Cannon Hill Park which is adjoined. There was ample parking on the day I arrived... More

This review is for the MAC café which I visited on a hot weekend with my young kids. On previous occasions, the experience has been pleasant (but nothing special). This time, I was met with miserable staff who did not appear to be very happy to be there. Maybe they wanted to be out in the sun, I don't know.... More

Myself and a few friends went to see Margaret Thatcher: Queen of Soho. It was an excellent and hilarious performance. MAC gets some good touring shows and punches above its weight based on the size of the venue. The bar is good and the food offer in the cafe well worth a try. The interface with Cannon Hill Park is... More

Very pricey venue to hire. Take 10% of ticket sales... even if you sell them yourself & a disgraceful, unfriendly, unhelpful attitude at the top. Technical crew subordinates superb, however. What you might expect from a Council owned effort. Couldn't care less. Great shame for what, after all, is a well revamped facility

Hi Arthur, Thanks for your feedback and I’m sorry to hear you didn’t have a more positive experience at mac. Firstly I’d like to clarify that, while we do receive some funding from Birmingham City Council, we are an independently run venue. As such we rely on the valuable income from venue hire to help keep our doors open and... More

I hadn't been in Mac for long when I realised why I hadn't visited for three months.
