Wood gate Valley country park, an Area of outstanding beauty. Well it won't be for much longer. The City Council have decided to do a bit of work on it and in one day have managed to flatten trees and shrubs where lots of wild flowers and birds could be found.

Had a walk around Woodgate trail and looking in on the children's farm and down the path to the lovely horses, listen to the pig who makes weird noises...There is a small cafe with serves refreshments and ice-creams , there is a small play area for the children.

Went to Woodgate with the grandkids but was very disappointed, not a lot to see around this place, the visitor centre cafe is ok for a cup of tea , the staff are very friendly and helpful but the cafe itself is very run down, could do with a good refurbishment.maybe I'll give this place another visit in the future... Visited for the 1st time in many years on hunt for owls in the big hoot & enjoyed a really nice walk with our dogs. If going with a dog be aware of the closeness & limited fencing to the horse field when you first set off by the coffee shop. The paths are well laid out & quite gentle... More

Went for a walk with my other half and it was so peaceful. Cafe was lovely and the food was delicious. There's a fair size play area for children and the horses were lovely.

Good park used to love taking my dog up here to see the horses before he passed away. But I do still sometimes cycle up here.
