Breathtaking displays of literally hundreds of fully restored British motorcycles are on hand to provide an extra attraction to your delegates. We aim to offer more than a unique venue, however. We know that the success of any function is dependent upon the backing and support of an experienced and caring staff. 13 luxuriously appointed and newly renovated suites, ranging from just 5 to up to 1000 delegates offer the flexibility to suite most requirements. The National Motorcycle Museum is at the hub of the country’s motorway system and rail network, with Birmingham International railway station just five-minutes taxi ride away. Access from everywhere within the UK is direct and overseas visitors praise the excellent international services provided at Birmingham Airport, which is less than two miles in distance away. The National Exhibition Centre is also near the Museum complex and we offer vast car parking facilities. Many of our clients are ‘blue-chip’ companies from home and overseas. They come back to us time after time – we know you will too, and look forward to seeing you to discuss your requirements in the near future.

- Mark B7 contributionsGreat day at the NMMGreat afternoon at the museum. As a “friend” of the museum had the opportunity to ride some of the museum’s bikes and experience different makes from the last 100 years. Museum experience was good as usual, good cafe, friendly staff and volunteers. The collection is always worth a look roun.Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 24, 2023
- Mark H4 contributionsTry a classic morningThe third time I have done this. Great value for £20 you get about 2 hrs of riding a selection of classic bikes and chatting with fellow enthusiasts in the museum grounds. You get to ride BSA and Triumph twins back to back along with some older, less common bikes. The short 'horseshoe' circuit is great for feeling the old bikes responding to your input on the tight turns and viewing other bikes being ridden round along side you.Visited September 2023Traveled soloWritten September 26, 2023
- Martin S1 contributionDay spoilt by CARD ONLY policyVery well laid out with a huge selection of exhibits from the very early to the absolute newest bikes. This was going to be my treat for my son, but guess what, they only take card payments, even for a cup of tea! I'm one of the old school who don't use cards and I felt bitterly let down by this policy, what was to have been a treat turned out to be an embarrassment as my son ended up having to pay for his own treat! I won't be visiting the museum again, and I now warn my friends not to visit if they like me don't use cards. Shame on you.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 19, 2023
- 5485PaulWhitworth, United Kingdom2 contributionsIdentification of MotorcycleI had an old faded photograph of my great grandfather riding an unknown motorcycle, on the off chance I sent a picture to the museum to see if they could identify it. Well they did and in just the space of 2 days, what an excellent service and special shout out to James Hewing the Museum Director who did the investigating for me. Look forward to visiting the Museum again this year as I have not been for many years.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten January 22, 2024
- COLIN MSale, Australia232 contributionsVery Helpful StaffI had an old family photo featuring my father as a child on a British Motorcycle. The museum was incredibly helpful, identifying the motorbike, year of manufacture and the type of motor. So incredibly helpful. - ReservarldenLondon, United Kingdom1,042 contributionsAmazing collectionLocated very close to the NEC / BHX the National Motorcycle Museum has a wealth of motorcycles on display from many years gone by. There are hundreds and hundreds to view showing the historical journey of how today's motorcycle came into being. There is also a gift shop and a cafe. Beware if attending with cash, as cash is not accepted.Visited March 2024Traveled soloWritten March 24, 2024
- john r1 contributionRide a classicAttended the ‘Ride a Classic’ afternoon event on 6th April, there was, as always, a varied selection of old British bikes available to ride. The event was well attended and very well organised. This was the fourth time I have been lucky enough to have been invited and I don’t think twice about the 350 mile round trip. My companion for the day even got half price admission. Big thanks to all the museum staff and volunteers who make the event possible.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 8, 2024
- Firbb15 contributionsGreat place to visit!Great place to visit with incredibly knowledgeable staff, from the Museum Director himself down to the many passionate volunteers who help out there. To cap it all they identified a bike for me from a grainy photo in no time at all! Excellent and will go again.Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 26, 2024
- Kerrie3 contributionsImproved cafe experience .I have previously posted due to poor service and availability in the cafe. However this time there has been a lot of improvement. There were more staff who were very friendly and helpful. Also there was a much better choice and availability of food.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 6, 2024
- OnlyNoodlesMichael98 contributionsStunning collection to marvel atBeautiful bikes, from the golden age of motorcycle design. From the very earliest bikes through to the 60s. There are some later bikes too. Every one has an a4 page giving its history so don't expect to get through every single thing in one visit. Enjoy soaking up the calm atmosphere and admire the bikes - there are quite a few seats throughout so no need to rush through. Not really anything for younger children, it's not that type of museum. Coffee shop & memorabilia shop don't require a ticket so worth remembering if you are en route this is a much nicer stop off than typical services!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 26, 2024

Ordered a present for a friend from them. I gave the wrong post code so contacted them - the response was almost instant; the customer service was excellent over the course of several emails. I think they really do care and would reccomend purchasing on line from their shop.

Not a bike fan but my old dad is, so drove 2 hours as a surprise for him. Thought I would be bored-I was wrong! The really old motorcycles from the late 1800s/early 1900s are amazing especially the wicker trailer. Definitely no health and safety requirements then. My dad loved seeing the BSA Star Twin similar to the one he owned. We joined the free tour and enjoyed listening to the knowledgeable guide who is very involved with the museum. We saw George Formby's bike-that was a surprise! There are racing bikes from very early days to recent times and speed breakers. Some of the bikes are taken to events and ridden. And there is one made totally from wood! We were there about 4 hours including lunch. The whole place was very accessible, wheelchairs could easily get around and there is some seating in the 5 halls and several sets of toilets. Parking was easy. Ignore the sat nav when you come off the motorway though, follow the brown signs. Well worth a visit and the journey!

I took part in a Classic Tour organised by the museum and open to Friends of the Museum. It is a unique opportunity to ride one of the bikes from the collection for a day on some spectacular local roads. The event was very well organised and professionally led ensuring all participants had a safe and, above all, enjoyable experience.
Cruising along in the spring sunshine on a 1950s BSA surrounded by picturesque scenery - absolutely fantastic. Worth becoming a Friend of the Museum for this experience alone.

My wife bought me a "Friends of the Museum" membership for my 60th birthday along with a private tour of the museum and a place on the "try a classic bike day" the following morning. After a delay of 18 months, courtesy of Covid, the museum has now reopened and rescheduled its events. I am delighted to say that any expectations I had were exceeded... massively!!
The museum is a fantastic place with an unbelievably comprehensive collection of motorcycles charting the history of British motorcycling. It is an absolute gold mine run by a lovely, knowledgeable and helpful bunch of staff and volunteers who make it all happen. It was brilliant seeing and sharing memories of some of the bikes I had owned, bikes my dad had owned and bikes I really wished I had owned, with like minded people.
The "try a classic bike day" was even better. We got to ride 12 vintage bikes over a couple of hours ranging from a rather scary 1000cc 1929 Royal Enfield, complete with lever throttle, hand gear change and two brake pedals, to a gorgeous 1961 BSA Super Rocket. I am still buzzing from the experience!
There is no doubt that I will be staying a friend of the museum and visiting often, even if only to pop in for a coffee when passing as the catering was delicious... and excellent value too!
Thank you, NMM, for delivering a fantastic, birthday experience!

I regularly attend the conference facility for the craft show which occurs a few times a year. I attended today with friends and was informed that apart from the craft show, there was a football room set aside for spectators and the usual visitors to the museum. Knowing these things are arranged well in advance, why does the cafe completely run out of everything except cake by 2pm! On previous visits the choice of hot food has been limited due to availability but today there was none. You lost quite a few potential customers today as several people left the show early to get food. There were staff on duty serving drinks etc but no sandwiches, no jackets, no pies or rolls....nothing. the cake did look nice but its not a meal. Everything else about the museum is very good. Just don't try and eat there!

Great to see the museum is fully open and back up and running.
As a museum 'Friend' I was at the 'ride a classic bike day' last weekend having not been there for more than 2 years due to restrictions. The cafe has moved from upstairs to the foyer - and the breakfast panini was a perfect start to the day late morning with excellent coffee.
The ride a classic bike event was well organised by very helpful staff who explained everything about the controls and how to ride the old bikes. My brain was on fire trying to master the old Royal Enfield with hand gear shift and finger control throttle - and two brake pedals.
Anyway, it is all open again and ready for you to visit
And it is a perfect substitute for a motorway service area at M42 J6. You don't need to pay admission or be a member (friend) to use the cafe and toilets

I took part in a 'Try A Classic' morning the other day - Excellent! This is the second time I've taken part and liked it even more this time as I got to ride a Vincent Comet and a BSA Goldstar 650 Twin - a contrast from a Bantam, James or Excelsior that I might ride on the road. All who took part were smiling having a great time. Brilliant value for £20 as a friend of the museum - it costs me more just to switch my insurance when I change bikes.

One of the perks of being a member is that you can ride a classic bike when the event is held on numerous days of the year . I booked my ride for the afternoon of the 6th August at a cost of £20.00. I was expecting to ride a bike for about 10 minutes. There were 10 bikes to choose from but about 14 people so there was a bit of waiting. You can ride all of the bikes over a period of two hours around a circuit of the carpark. It is a great experience and highly recommended and great value for the money.

Visited Saturday 3rd December and enjoyed a leisurely stroll reminiscing about the bikes I rose in my earlier years, approaching lunch time and feeling very hungry and in need of lunch, my cousin and I made for the cafe, I found a table for 4 while my cousin and his wife went for something to eat, as it was after noon, I anticipated a wait, however upon their return, they said they could only find a roll, the counter staff would not make anything fresh eve for a diabetic who needed it.
Not the kind of attitude one expects toward health.
Museum thumbs up, cafe let it's self down.
