A family of four cost us £59 booked in advance from the website . On the whole it was a mixed day some lovely some of it just awful .

There were some interactive displays the kids loved some of this but found the rest a little boring A lovely experience playing with chocolate but again affter 10 mins this was done we then got to have a ride on the car ride which the kids loved so much we did twice .

They then wanted to charge us £12 for a photo taken we declined and off to try a small amount of melted chocolate with are choice of toppings this was lovely and we actualy got to watch some chocolate being made (finally)

Then outside to a brilliant 4 d cinema kids loved this and an amazing playground also the bornvile museum I like this the kids not so much .

Then off to the cafe and this is where it all went so wrong from the lovely staff in the museum to the well plain rude and unhelpful staff in the cafe . The food is over priced rubbish the Pannine and chips was over £9 and doesn’t come with a drink and the Pannine was so uncooked I think they just showed it the grill . The kids boxes were around £5 it came with a dry ham or cheese roll a packet of pom bears a muffin apple and drink they forgot to give the drinks hence I had to go and ask this is where we discover how rude they were . If I was you guys take a picnic it’s just not worth entering the cafe unless you have booked afternoon tea as this is the only customers they appeared to care about .

All in all museum ( it’s realy not a factory experience) is lovely and the free chocolate at the beginning was a bonus and the kids had a realy nice time but I’m realy unsure if it is worth the money .

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World a review. We do believe the Cadbury World experience is a mixture of activities for both adults and children to enjoy. The beginning of the exhibition concentrates on the history of Cadbury and Bournville while other zones provide fun and interaction for children and little ones such as Purple Planet, our 4D Chocolate adventure and the Cadabra ride. I was most concerned to read about your experience in the Cadbury World restaurant. We endeavour to regularly check all of the food that is served for quality and temperature, and your experience certainly does not reflect the high standards of food quality and customer care we set ourselves. We sincerely apologise for this and will pass your comments on to our restaurant manager for review. We hope to be able to welcome you back to Cadbury World in the future. Best wishes.

We visited with a 10 month old in a stroller.
The venue clearly invested a lot of effort in their offering. A lot of it consists of history and facts, but really what else can one expect? There are interactive experiences, of which the 4D cinema was our favourite.
Lots of sanitiser stations and toilets available. We went super early but the place was packed by 11, so I’d recommend arriving when they open if you really want to experience the 4D cinema. Food stalls only open at 11, as do some of the “live” shows outside. Plan to stay at least three hours and remember there is a sizable outside area to be visited after the inside tour… this is where kids can run around, play, see shows and the 4D cinema (incl in ticket price).
Overall the experience offers great value for money if you’re taking kids there.
We did not eat at the instore cafe; it seemed to be a canteen-type experience with pizza on the menu, amongst other things.

By the time we left around 11am kids everywhere were bouncing off the walls…
Ge there early because in order to proceed through the indoor tour one has to be corralled into not one but two “theatres” along the way. These can’t be skipped, so if the place is busy you’re going to have to wait around in a closed in area for your turn to get in (and out of) the theatres, which tell the story of the history of Bournville/Cadbury with shaky benches.

If you’re a Cadbury fan, you definitely have to go, but go as early as possible, especially if you have an infant, toddler or wheelchair-type mobility requirement.

I have been to Cadbury world a number of times with different children in the last 25 years. It is a good day out but the format hasn’t changed much over these years. In fact, the experience is getting worse in a number of ways.
I have felt compelled to write this review now as we went just before Easter but you wouldn’t have known it from the lack of ‘extras’.
The chocolate gifts have been massively reduced. There used to be staff throughout popping them into your bag as you went around the experience.
You can no longer look down onto the production floor (probably due to covid) which is all boarded off leading to long empty corridors to walk along. This takes away from the fact that you are actually visiting a working factory environment and it could be anywhere.
BUT most disappointing was the lack of any Easter extras. No ‘find the hidden egg’ trail or similar etc.
To top it off the live show-The Easter Extravaganza- was an insult to all the children. Fredo was given three tasks. Make the children laugh then dance and finally to make an Easter treat. The children watched in anticipation as chocolate cornflake cakes were made in front of them. The compère encouraging the children to shout out instructions and repeatedly mentioning chocolate eggs and Easter treats. Once completed the cakes were whisked away behind the screen and Fredo got his reward; an enormous chocolate Easter egg!! Followed by the compère directing the audience out. I really think the company could have provided a small egg for the children on the way out and there were a lot of disappointed faces.
The tickets aren’t cheap and the two weeks of the school holiday are fully booked out so I think Cadbury/Fry’s are being very lack lustre and mean spirited.
My advice: go somewhere else at Easter and save your Cadbury visit for another time

Visited with friends and found it to be ok. I think it’s definitely a place to visit once as it’s expensive. Enjoyed the talks and cinema shows they did. Mobile data signal is non existent inside so make sure you connect to the free Wi-Fi to be able to show barcodes on phones. There were lots of signs about this but some people clearly didn’t read them and were holding up the queues.
Once inside it’s a pleasant walk through each exhibit/section. Queues are really bad for the cadabra ride and 4d photos but there is an option to skip these, by asking a member of staff who are near the queues
Gift shop fine, some prices actually cheaper than on high street. Cafe was awful. It was pretty much empty but waited a long time for it to come, My food was over cooked and hard, and I barely ate much of it, it was also very overpriced. Would recommend taking your own food

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World a review. Thank you for your comments regarding the problems you experienced with congestion. As with other attractions an element of queuing should be expected, especially at busy periods such as weekends. We endeavour to reduce congestion by controlling the time at which our visitors enter the exhibition. However, speed of progress through the exhibition varies greatly from visitor to visitor, and occasionally this results in congestion at certain points. I was most concerned to read about your experience in the Cadbury World Cafe. You have my assurance that I will pass your comments on to our restaurant manager for review. Best wishes.

Unfortunately our visit got off to a bad start with a queue to enter the attraction that seemed to be incredibly disorganised and snaked all around the entrance area. There was only one person scanning tickets for a considerable number of people - surely there must be a better system?

We found the videos about the history of Cadbury’s interesting but the rest of the attraction just seemed to be a very random sequence of rooms. We would have liked to see more about the chocolate making process but this seemed to be a 3 minute talk before being herding along like cattle. The Cardabra ride had broken down and, whilst we waited 15 minutes with an ever growing queue behind us, we decided to cut our losses and carry on to the next ‘attraction’. My children enjoyed the play park so that is a positive but certainly not worth £63. We queued for the 4D cinema and lo and behold another failure - this time the automatic doors wouldn’t open. The staff really seemed like they wished they were anywhere else (as did we to be fair). Maybe we called on a day where organisation had gone out of the window but I honestly cannot see how they can justify an entry price of £63 for a family of 4.

You think of chocolate, Cadburys, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and you get excited your imagination is filled with what the day will hold. Well be prepared for a huge disappointment. These is a mediocre play area which we have in the next village, not a 4 hour round trip away. You can then spend 3 hours in a queue…. A queue for amazing things??? NO. You queue for a photograph, which of course you have to pay for if you want a copy, you queue for a very bizarre ride which a 3YO liked but the rest of the adults and kids were just confused about, they take a photo, which of course you have to pay for. You queue to squirt chocolate on a table where we made a chocolate dog poo (probably the highlight of the day). Towards the end there is queue and a small display of chocolate being mixed, you are given a little test pot of chocolate, then you are landed in the shop (of course). A very disappointing day, with little imagination, thought or investment. Oh, the kids were given 3 chocolate bars each at the start. Not somewhere I would return or recommend, really quite pathetic.

Food in cafe rediculously expensive, nearly £4 a latte ciabatta basic £6... 3 bars of chocolate each and a couple of tablespoons of warm melted chocolate with a couple of toppings were our only freebies.. .i dont even think i would recommend it to small children..Boring

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World a review. We are so sorry to hear of your disappointment. For reasons of safety and food hygiene, Cadbury is no longer able to take the general public through the factory. We do advertise in all our literature that Cadbury World is not a factory tour; instead you discover the history, the making and the magic of Cadbury confectionery. We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your visit and felt you did not receive value for money. We do believe that our prices are fairly based especially when judged against other tourist attractions. We strive to offer a customer experience which suits everyone and are sorry that on this occasion we did not achieve this. I really wasn’t sure what to expect after reading other reviews but we had a really lovely day at Cadbury world! My husband and I travelled with our five-year-old daughter and she has already said that she wants to return.
You get given three free chocolate bars at the entrance and then walk through an area which details where cocoa beans are farmed from with some interesting history. There are two short films that show the history of Cadbury’s and how they process the ingredients to make the chocolate bars. It was really interesting! We loved the area with the green screen and getting to take a picture on a giant chocolate bar but my daughter’s favourite part was the car ride. We got to sample some chocolate and wrote our names with some liquid chocolate. Everyone we met was lovely and were especially kind to our daughter. The gift shop is nice but very busy! There’s an outside area which includes a 4d movie which we didn’t see as the queues were very long. We did get to watch a show ‘Freddo’s circus’ which was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed. It was a three hour journey each way for us to visit Cadbury world but for us it was worth it. I would recommend trying it for yourself and being aware that you don’t get to visit the actual factory.

I don’t understand some of the reviews below! Cadbury World is a lovely half a day out. We went on a Sunday in March and while it was busy it wasn’t mental. My recommendation is get there early and do the 4D experience which is outside the main factory tour first. Best 4D I’ve been to! That opens at 10.30 and we did that first, then we went to the main tour, which yes you have to queue for but not for too long and you get x3 bars of chocolate here (Wispa, Twirl, Dairy Milk). You then go through a rainforest/Aztec zone, then some visual shows to learn some of the history, another one to learn some of the manufacturing. You get to temper chocolate, draw and write with chocolate, go on a hilarious Cocoa Bean ride, have a little melted chocolate pot, watch staff hand decorating some of the chocolate, see the history of the advertising then the kids can do some interactive stuff before you end up in the shop. There’s is also Freddo’s Circus Show and a huge play area for little ones if the weather is decent. I only gave it 4* because there are some things that could be better:
*Some of the interactive games in the Aztec exhibit are not clear as to what you need to do.
*Pot of melted chocolate was TINY!!! The two fillings were more than the chocolate, you definitely used to get more
*Not sure all the manufacturing stuff on the video is still what happens
*Drumming gorilla wasn’t working :( and the DJ thing was on an annoying loop of the same advert over and over (eyebrow one)
*Lights not working on the ‘Simon says’ interactive at the end
*It would be good to see more of the actual manufacturing (you used to see the choc being wrapped and out into boxes
All in all my 12 year old and I had a great morning out!
*You should be able to bypass the green screen photos (we did but only after queueing for about 10 mins)

Brief roundup of our tour. Queue to get in. Get 3 chocolate bars dumped on you and get charged a quid for a bag to put them in. Queue up. Walk through some models, queue up again. Watch a video. Watch another video with shaky seats. Queue again. Go make a mess with chocolate. Queue up for 20 mins to get to a green screen photo that is a rip off and should just be able to be bypassed. Queue again. Go on some naff small world type ride (which stopped half way through for about 5 mins and was very uncomfortable). Queue again. Get given a tiny cup of melted chocolate with two tiny toppings. Watch someone put chocolate in a ice cube tray. Queue again. See photos from ride that you have to pay for of course. Queue again. Some interactive games that didn’t work properly which was even more frustrating for our children. Queue again. Exit through the gift shop full of more rubbish. The staff were few and far between and spent the entire time grouped together having a good old chin wag. Place is completely run down, dated and not entertaining At no point did we see any of the factory or the chocolate being made. Even the mishaps bag were 4 quid and we’re just chocolate moulded like roses without a filling. The 4d cinema wasn’t working so they gave us an extra chocolate bar to compensate us (hardly what I would think is fair). Everything in the place was a rip off. I see this as the most expensive chocolate bars we have ever bought and we feel genuinely aggrieved. Please don’t waste your money.
