About
Uncover a world of chocolate delights and enjoy a fascinating, fun-packed day out at Cadbury World. From learning how your favourite confectionery is made and uncovering the fascinating story of Cadbury chocolate, to playing in chocolate rain and adding your favourite treat to a delicious pot of warm liquid Cadbury Dairy Milk. You'll discover the origins of the cocoa bean amidst trees and waterfalls in the Aztec Jungle, before jumping on board the magical Cadabra ride and visiting the brand new 4D Chocolate Adventure zone, a 4D cinema experience featuring Cadbury's most popular characters. Cadbury World is located in the grounds of the original Cadbury factory, but isn't a tour of the factory itself. Instead, you'll discover the history, the making and the magic of Cadbury confectionery as you journey through our chocolatey zones.

Wish it was a little longer but we loved the little pot of chocolate treats and tempering your own chocolate as well as the little ride! Unfortunately the cafe was only accepting cash the day we went which we were really disappointed aboutHi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. - phil dBrighton, United Kingdom54 contributionsGreat Day OutWell, what a fab day out with the kids this one is. Lots to see and do, lots of free choclate! Great for all ages, my 15 year old daughter enjoyed it just as much as my 10 year old daughter did. Myself and my wife also had a great time. It wasn't over crowded, though I can imagine it would be a different matter mid summer, but in February half term it was fine. Would thoroughly recommend.Hi there, Fantastic to read you enjoyed a 5* experience at Cadbury World. - Chander_62Cardiff, United Kingdom428 contributionsGood experience and wish it was more interactive and would have been nice to see the factory in operation.A lot has changed since we went there with our daughters. The basic theme about how the chocolate is made was there with lots of information which one could read about. There was some interactive involvement where one could experience how to tamper the chocolate and a short demonstration of how the chocolate is cast into moulds. There were two film clips on the processing of cocoa beans and how the chocolate is made. Personally, I feel that even the demo of the moulds could be done in a video if Cadbury is trying to cut corners.  At the start of the tour we were given a bar of chocolate each and they were selling bags,  a small purple coloured one and a beige one if we felt like putting a single chocolate in the bag. The other piece of chocolate we had was when we came off the train ride. In the shop at the end if one  purchased £30 and over worth of chocolates one was offered a small toy or a small purple bag or you would have had to buy the large beige bag. Clever marketing in my opinion but the small bag was nowhere large enough to take the over £30 goods. They have the school trips but wonder how much of the Cadbury World experience they have. Feel bad commenting like this but I think the companies thriving on the back of the consumers have some obligation to them by providing decent information.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 24, 2024
- Passenger1655928830819 contributionsChoctastic time!We loved cadbury world. There was a small dark ride with blasters to shoot ingredients for chocolate. So much free chocolate along with examples of how to make different cadbury treats. An amazing gift shop with reasonable priced items. Learning the history of the company was very interesting and had a nice playground. Very cool 4D experience. Worth it totally reccomend!Thank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World such wonderful feedback. - Susie B6 contributionsGreat day outWe had an absolutely wonderful time at Cadbury World! It was the perfect day out for both my 11-year-old and 5-year-old, who were buzzing with excitement from start to finish. The interactive experiences and fun exhibits kept them engaged, and there was so much to see and do that we hardly had a moment of downtime. Although it was quite busy during our visit, the queuing was well organised and managed, making the wait times reasonable and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring everyone had a great experience. One of the highlights was the generous amount of chocolate we received throughout our visit—who doesn’t love free chocolate? It made the experience even sweeter for the kids! Overall, Cadbury World is a delightful destination for families, combining fun, education, and, of course, plenty of chocolate.Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World a review. - Caidyn G1 contribution10/10I took a trip to Cadbury world for my mother’s birthday and was astounded at the quality of the experience and friendliness of the staff. The rides and the inclusions of history and detail made the Cadbury expedience phenomenal! On top of this, while the shop was busy with long queues I was helped and assisted by Brandon who was incredibly warm, well spoken and friendly. 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in the rich historyThank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World such wonderful feedback. - عبدلخالیق رBirmingham, United Kingdom9 contributionsFor chocolate loverVisiting Cadbury World was a dream come true for my inner chocolate lover. The moment I walked in, the rich scent of chocolate filled the air, setting the tone for a sweet adventure. The journey through the factory was both fun and educational, offering fascinating insights into the history of chocolate and the story of Cadbury. One of the highlights was watching chocolate being made right in front of me—seeing those creamy rivers of chocolate flow was mesmerizing! The interactive exhibits, like the 4D cinema experience and the chance to write your name in chocolate, added a playful touch to the visit. And, of course, the generous samples along the way were a delicious bonus. The staff were friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you’re a chocoholic or just looking for a fun family outing, Cadbury World is a treat in every sense.Wonderful to read you enjoyed a 5 star day with us. Not up to mark and below than expected. History of Cadbury journey is showed through animated screens and not much impressive. Chocolate making was not good whereas Chocolate tasting is good. . Overall not a preferable choice. To be honest, didn't see some attractive things that can inspire kids and family. Moreover quite expensive too.Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World a review. - Taylor M4 contributionsDisability DiscriminationI would like to raise a complaint regarding our recent visit to Cadbury World. As a family, we have visited Cadbury World over four times in the past two years using our Merlin Passes and have never encountered any issues regarding accessibility—until today. Today, my husband and I took our grandchildren for another visit, as we usually do. My husband is in a wheelchair, has a speech impairment, and is paralysed in half of his body. Upon having our Merlin Passes scanned, we were asked to provide proof that I am his carer. This was the first time we had ever been asked for such proof. The staff member at the desk made us feel belittled and accused of lying. He stated that he "would not let us in without proof of carer" and explained that "due to cases of people lying in the past, we have had to ask for proof of carer." While I understand the need for certain protocols, the way the situation was handled was completely unacceptable. The staff member shouted at us in front of a large queue, leaving us feeling heavily embarrassed and accused. This incident occurred in front of more than 50 people, and at no point were we asked to stand aside to resolve the issue privately. The man demanded we provide either a blue badge or financial documents proving that I am a carer. Unfortunately, we had left the blue badge on display in the car, as is usually required. Carrying confidential financial documents to a busy public attraction is not practical, and we did not have these on us either. After over five minutes of unnecessary embarrassment, my grandson managed to find a picture of my husband's blue badge on his phone. Although I understand this may be protocol, the manner in which it was handled—intending to embarrass us in front of a busy queue—is unacceptable. My husband’s disability is clearly visible as he is in a wheelchair, and we had already provided documented proof to Nimbus Accessibility when obtaining the Merlin carer pass. As all Merlin carer passes go through this rigorous process, we should not have been subjected to this treatment or made to feel like this at all. Later during our visit, we encountered another accessibility issue at the Cadbury Chocolate Quest ride. This ride has always been wheelchair-accessible during our previous visits, but on this occasion, the wheelchair-accessible cart was broken. While I understand that machinery and rides can occasionally break, this should have been clearly stated on the website beforehand. The website banner currently states, "All of our chocolatey zones are now open! We look forward to welcoming you." However, there is no mention—even on the accessibility page—that the ride is not functioning for wheelchair users. We were offered the chance to ride in a standard car, but this was not possible as my husband is completely unable to walk. While we did enjoy the rest of the attraction, the overall experience was soured by the lack of professionalism and poor handling of accessibility concerns. The staff need to improve their manners and the way they manage such situations to ensure no one else is subjected to the same treatment.Visited December 2024Traveled with familyWritten December 16, 2024

What a brilliant place! Family of 5 with kids ranging from 15-7 and they all loved it.
We had our tickets booked for 10.30am, but arrived at the venue about 9.45. Walked in a spoke to the staff who said we can’t go in before our time but we could go to the bourneville area and that the 4D experience would start at 10.30.
We decided to go round and see what was at Bourneville.
The museum was good, kept us warm from the cold and there is a lot to look at and videos to watch.
The kids then went and spent some time in the park and when 10.30ish rolled around we queued up for the 4D show. It started late as they were waiting for someone to sort the lift of something. 🤷‍♀️ After a while they let us in to the show and we all just walked in (not sure what the lift thing was about).
The show was really good, very short but fun. My youngest didn’t like it but the others wanted to go back. I wish I’d said yes at the time as when we went back later the queue was quite long and we had a long drive back so couldn’t wait. But we were conscious our time had passed and wanted to go into the main attraction.
We walked in, got in the relevant queue and was at the front in 5 minutes. They scanned my print out of my tickets and we got a choc bar each and the book I had pre ordered. We then also brought a bag as we had a few bits to carry!
The talks and shows inside were good, not something the kids were that interested in but the adults enjoyed it. It was quite hot though and LOTS of people in smallish rooms which doesn’t help. Not much else to say on the attraction part other then it’s well guided to make sure you don’t miss anything, but easy to skip parts you don’t want to do. On the way around we got 2 more choc bars each and also a little taster pot of chocolate and toppings.
The green screen/car ride pictures are priced pretty much the same as any other attraction. We got 3 photos, 2 magnets and 2 key rings for ÂŁ25.
Eventually the end comes to the shop which isn’t that badly priced, again probably on par with most other attractions. Some of the chocolates were def cheaper though.
We went to the restaurant after we had finished in the shop and were seated almost immediately. There are menus on the table and you head to the till to order and they bring your food and drink to your table.
The food was superb! Portion sizes great, food well cooked and tasted great too. My daughter couldn’t finish her pizza and there was no issue getting a box to bring the rest home. It was about £60 for 5 mains and 5 drinks.
Can’t fault the day at all, or the staff and if we were closer, I would def return. Sadly it’s a bit far to go so unlikely we will return unless we are doing something else in the local area.

I’m sorry to say this Cadbury’s....... but the tour was awful, and for me this has damaged your reputation.
It has actually put me off buying your products as I feel ripped off. As do the other people who joined me.
Just to set the scene a little. Our group consisted of 2 couples, late twenties early 30’s with no kids. We drove from Colchester which was 3 hours each way and tickets cost about £85 in total for the group. I had been recommended this by people at work but I’m guessing they went many years ago perhaps when you could view areas of the factory in operation.
This tour could have been anywhere in the UK. We saw no operation of chocolate manufacturing. It was extremely gimmicky with lots of plastic displays of chocolate. All we saw was videos of the various processes. Learnt about the history of chocolate. I could have gone on YouTube to learn this. There were people doing talks with warmed up chocolate slapping them in moulds and sticking it back in the machine to be melted which was also labelled as non edible chocolate. It was boring for us and I could only imagine how bored children were by it. Exhibitions had no consistency? One minute we were in an old street, the next room was weird disco DJ room at the end? The corridors were drab and depressing walking between events. We were given 4 chocolate bars each. Save your self the money and spend a pound at the supermarket.
4d cinema was the only thing we all enjoyed however I did see the lady cleaning about 150 pairs of 3D glasses with the same sanitation wipe? Perhaps do this back of house rather than in-front of people as they enter the 4d cinema as it looks unprofessional?
Things that could done much better?
Don’t charge £10 to get a key ring and picture emailed as it’s a rip off. If people post pictures of this visit on social media then other people would probably book a trip. Business basics?
Perhaps get a few coco beans so people can hold them, smell it and see what it’s about.
Have samples of the chocolate at the different processes, crumb, solids, oils, butter etc so you get a sense of what it is. What it tastes like and what it smells like.
Have a viewing screen of the live factory operations. You dont need to see the secret stuff but I’m sure all the adults wanted to see the production process and the engineering aspects.
Cadburys are seriously missing the mark with this. This is the meca of uk chocolate and when people drive this far and pay this much it doesn't represent good value for money. When you look at the reviews from average to poor, it represents nearly 30% of the reviews. John Cadbury would be rolling in his grave if this is his lasting legacy.
Regards Rob

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Unfortunately, Cadbury World can no longer take the general public through the factory for reasons of safety and food hygiene. We do advertise in all our literature that Cadbury World is not a factory tour; instead you discover the history, the making and the magic of Cadbury confectionery. I am sure you will appreciate that the chocolate making process today is very highly mechanised. It is therefore more contained and less labour intensive than it used to be.
All attractions are subjective and what appeals to one particular person or family does not always suit another. The Cadbury World experience is a mixture of activities for both adults and children to enjoy. Within the exhibition, the first part concentrates on the history of cocoa products, their introduction into Europe and the Cadbury history and development of the business. We also have a number of areas that create fun and interaction for children such as the Cadabra ride, the Chocolate Making area and Purple Planet. In addition, Advertising Avenue, the Bournville Experience and our 4D Chocolate Adventure are also areas of interaction.
It has always been our company policy to give out three samples in the main exhibition and a cup of liquid chocolate with the choice of an inclusion in Chocolate Making. We operate as a responsible company and consider guideline daily amounts for our product within a healthy lifestyle.
Through visitor research and recent feedback, the vast majority of our visitors truly enjoy the tour. Our exit surveys indicate that 93% of visitors would recommend to family and friends and we are consistently rated in the top UK attractions. However, I do accept that we can further improve and would like to thank you for your feedback which will be passed on to the managment team for review.
Best wishes.

We visited with a 10 month old in a stroller.
The venue clearly invested a lot of effort in their offering. A lot of it consists of history and facts, but really what else can one expect? There are interactive experiences, of which the 4D cinema was our favourite.
Lots of sanitiser stations and toilets available. We went super early but the place was packed by 11, so I’d recommend arriving when they open if you really want to experience the 4D cinema. Food stalls only open at 11, as do some of the “live” shows outside. Plan to stay at least three hours and remember there is a sizable outside area to be visited after the inside tour… this is where kids can run around, play, see shows and the 4D cinema (incl in ticket price).
Overall the experience offers great value for money if you’re taking kids there.
We did not eat at the instore cafe; it seemed to be a canteen-type experience with pizza on the menu, amongst other things.
By the time we left around 11am kids everywhere were bouncing off the walls…
Ge there early because in order to proceed through the indoor tour one has to be corralled into not one but two “theatres” along the way. These can’t be skipped, so if the place is busy you’re going to have to wait around in a closed in area for your turn to get in (and out of) the theatres, which tell the story of the history of Bournville/Cadbury with shaky benches.
If you’re a Cadbury fan, you definitely have to go, but go as early as possible, especially if you have an infant, toddler or wheelchair-type mobility requirement.

This was our first trip so wasn’t sure what to expect, we booked our tickets online, but it was very quiet so we could have just bought at the counter
We were given 4 chocolate bars on entering the exhibition, there are various sections throughout the exhibition, some are on different floors, but there is a lift if you need it. I found the whole experience interesting and there are several interactive areas to keep you interested. We got several more bars of chocolate as we went round
My favourite bit was the cheesy ride, more for kids but adults can ride it
The exhibition ends in the gift shop which has exclusive chocolate as well as a large range of chocolate and gifts
There is a coffee shop/cafe in the lobby but we didn’t use it so couldn’t comment on it
There is a 4D ride around the outside of the building which is one of the best I have been on in this country, there is also a large kids play area, which was being revamped while we were there
I had a great time and would recommend a visit

This is one of those places that I've been aware of for years and never got around to going, although before the kids I'm not really sure I'd have wanted to go, although there were many people in there in childless couples so clearly I might be alone in this. Anyhow we went as a family, two young children. The first thing that's obvious is an attempt to control the queue, as you can't enter the queue until your timeslot, so probably best not to arrive early as you'll be cooling your jets for a while with very little to do, although you could visit the 4D cinema and the outdoor play area, which was fairly soggy on the day we turned up. Anyhow I guess there are timeslots for a reason and it did make the rest of the queues bearable as the whole trip is pretty much a procession, which starts dull. History of chocolate in a darkened construction that felt a little like a museum and felt a little creepy to the little ones, then on to a screechy young girl giving a brief overview of the history before you got two more overviews from talking heads projected on the wall, at this point the kids really just want to eat the chocolate they were given on entrance. But it improves from there on, there's some "hands on" chocolate skills, some chocolate sampling a green screen and s short ride on a ride that was controlled by a more shrill youngsters with at best a rudimentary understanding of children, thereon it was out through the giftshop and into the 4d cinema which was enjoyable enough. My concerns abour the place would be that I would firmly suggest this is strictly for the kids, theres very little of interest for adults and yet the place didn't seem geared towards children, the toilets were all adult sized toilets, the interactive screens too high for little ones to really interact with, no steps to stand on for chocolate skills, the glasses in the 4d cinema all adult size etc etc. Even the chocolates given out were standard adult sized chocolates. Having said that the kids enjoyed it well enough and they both said they would come again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave Cadbury World a review. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the chocolatey samples and 4D Chocolate Adventure Cinema.
The Cadbury World experience is a mixture of activities for both adults and children to enjoy, where you learn about the history and making of Cadbury Chocolate.
The level of lighting within the attraction has been carefully considered, in order to create an atmosphere suitable for each zone. However your feedback will be passed on to the management team for further review.
Through visitor research and recent feedback, the vast majority of our visitors truly enjoy the tour. Our exit surveys indicate that 93% of visitors would recommend to family and friends and we are consistently rated in the top UK attractions. However, we do accept that we can further improve and would like to thank you for your feedback.
Best wishes.

As person before me has wrote, we also came to Cadbury World today. It was completely jam-packed to full capacity today (to be expected - first weekend of holidays/cold wet day great for indoor attractions). So immediately there's that added stress to rush and less freedom to move about.
Brought my 2 young kids aged 3 and 5, they loved the jungle, all the chocolate we received, the car ride, and the purple planet room was a big hit. They loved the exciting chocolate history rooms, was fun for adults too.
We unfortunately did not go to the 4D experience, it was a horrendously long wait for my young children (and for us parents) 1 hour!! There was just no chance we were waiting around that long. It may be a good idea to assign time slots to guests just like how we enter into the main entrance. (unsure of the 10 minute time slot purpose though).
We would come again despite this, perhaps in a couple years when both children are better suited to cope with queues, and we'd come either first thing or last thing.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased to hear that your children enjoyed the exhibition and the free chocolatey samples!
As with other UK tourist attractions an element of queuing should be expected, especially at busy periods such as weekends and school holidays. We endeavour to reduce congestion by controlling the time at which our visitors enter the exhibition, as for health and safety reason we can only allow a certain number of visitors per time slot. However, speed of progress through the exhibition varies greatly from visitor to visitor, and occasionally this results in congestion at certain points.
We appreciate all your feedback which will be passed on to the management team for further review, and we hope to be able to welcome you back in the future!
Best wishes.

We visited Cadbury world today, and was very disappointed with the whole experience if I’m honest.
I know that COVID has made things difficult but a lot of things were closed, like the face painting and the cafe.
We were hoping to have a proper cadbury hot chocolate and the ice creams that are advertised at the entrance etc but sadly nothing was open.
I’m not sure why either as COVID restrictions have eased in the last few weeks.
For three of us or was 50 odd pound and I don’t feel like it was worth it as there wasn’t much to see and not very child friendly as there was a lot to read rather than to show children and no magic.
We felt very rushed going through all the places and the best was the car ride which was magical and if there was more things like that I would recommend it. But we couldn’t only go on this once. Which was a shame.
I don’t think we would return if it stays the same it has so much more potential than what we saw today.
For example chocolate foundations, dispensers of chocolate, the Cadbury characters coming to life.
My 6 year old step daughter has so many ideas for the place. So maybe they need to ask for new ideas from children’s with imagination

Just remember; this is not a theme park nor a factory visit. Cadbury's have put good use to the old factory buildings by squeezing in a bunch of fun and educational events all about chocolate and how it's made. It is ideal for young kids (under 10). Shame they don't make more of the history of the area, such a small museum on the ground floor of the building - could include walking tours, guided visits etc. Understand they can't have thousands of people visiting the factory (health & safety nightmare) but maybe offer a VIP "behind the scenes" tour for an extra cost? Entrance is about ÂŁ50 for a family ticket, which seems expensive, but you get that back in free chocolate. Expect crowds during the holidays, but all in all a good day out on a wet weekend.

Took my 10 year old here during the spring half term holidays and we had a good time even though it was very busy. We arrived 2 hours before the time allocated for our main event and it made sense to do it in that order: 4D cinema, Cadbury's museum then onto your allocated time event. It's not entirely clear where the queues for the events so we had to ask people in the queues. We both thought the 4D Cinema experience was fun although there was a lot of queuing for that but it was undercover. The museum part was ok and seeing all of the packaging, tins and boxes thoughout the years was interesting.
When you go into the main Tour bit, you can pick up what you ordered with your tickets like your bags and brochures. The staff give you lots of chocolate bars to eat along the way. Kids are kept happy with the 'find Freddo's Friends quiz' along the way. We had our photos taken in the green room area and also on the little mobile car thing. These as always are expensive for what they are.
There are lots of demos and areas for you to make your own name in chocolate and do some tempering. The onsite shop is also good and there is lots to buy. We didn't go to the restaurant as we had something to eat on the way, but I think a large pizza, 4 portions of chips and 4 drinks was a bit steep at ÂŁ34.
All in, the both of us had a great day and I would reccommend it to friends to visit!

We had a great day out and our children enjoyed themselves, particularly getting free bars of chocolate! Its not a theme park, but an interesting insight into chocolate making and the history of Cadbury. There are some interactive bits and the 4D cinema was very well done. My children spent about 2hrs on the play equipment outside and had great fun. The family admission price was ÂŁ51 so for 4 of us I thought it was good value for a day trip. The cafe prices are a bit steep so if its not within your budget you could take a picnic. There are plenty of picnic tables outside and some under cover.

Can I drive and park my campervan into Cadburys World for the day visit?
I understand it is free to park. Our van is allowed to drive in the clean air zone according to the online checks which we have done.
Thank you,

There was a lot of work going on at Cadbury World when we visited last month and quite a few parking spaces were taken up by this but I can't remember going underneath any height restrictions. I would contact Cadbury World if you. Not sure if this is of help

Are there any other attractions that we could combine with our visit to Cadbury World?
I've been promising my children a trip here for years but it's 3 hours from where we live so would like to make a weekend of it. My children are 13, 12, 11 and 6 and we don't mind driving to get to other places.
Thanks

We'll be traveling via train and will have luggage to get to our next destination. Is there anywhere you can recommend we drop our luggage off that's near Cadbury World? Our train drops us off at Bourneville station.

If you have kids I would say the indoor self guided tour would take roughly 2 hours. There is a few things you can get involved in. There is also an outdoor play area for the children and a 4D show. Near the play area there is sometimes an indoor show with Freddo, and sometimes you can have a photo opportunity with the Characters. All in all if you want to be finished by lunch time go for the earliest slot. Have fun.. :)
