About
The Jewellery Quarter is one of the oldest districts in Birmingham. Around a 15minute walk from the city centre and well connected with trains, trams and buses. The area has a reputation of high quality, bespoke Jewellery but is home to countless independent restaurants, bars and cafes. The Quarter is home to over 200 listed buildings including the Grade I* St Paul’s Church which sits on top of the last Georgian Square in Birmingham. We have three amazing museums, a handful of galleries and all sorts of interesting and unique attractions. We have an annual festival in July that celebrates everything Jewellery Quarter, this is something to highlight in your calendars. Whether it is shopping, sightseeing or enjoying a drink with friends, the Jewellery Quarter is the place to be. This page is managed by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District.

I had seen the reference to the Jewellery Quarter on maps of Birmingham and viewed the website, so decided to visit. It may have been my fault, as I took the references to the many shops and restaurants, to mean that this was a bustling area, for the general tourist. We went there late Sunday morning and the only shops that we found open were Jewellery shops. Many of the restaurants and the other shops that would have been of a general interest (for example the chocolate shop) were shut. I can see that it is a fantastic area if you want to buy jewellery, as there is so much choice, but it is not that interesting for a general wander round. We did, however visit our favourite restaurant, Damascena, which has a branch in this area and is thoroughly recommended.

I visited on a Sunday when there is free parking locally but not all stores are open. That said there are far too many to choose from even on a Saturday.

It is difficult to explain there is no hard sell but as there are very few people in each shop you have little choice than to talk to a sales person which means you have to say "no" if you want to look elsewhere.

Didn't seem to be much negotiation room on prices but it doesn't hurt to ask! As with all jewellery it is worth what you are willing to pay!

We had fantastic customer service at Newey's. As soon as we walked in we were warmly welcomed by Jonathan who listened to what we wanted. He was friendly and helpful with no pushy sales pitch. Having our jewellery made and ready on the same day was an added bonus. We can highly recommend and will visit again!

Yesterday my husband and I collected the most esquite pair shaped diamond ring from JQ Diamonds in Birmingham's jewllery quater. Find them next to the entrance of the main car park. From start to finish, the team at JQ diaminds provided a service which I can only describe as being exemplary. Our requirements were kept central to the process, from the early discussion about the design with Abby, who helped me to work through the options, then over to Jennifer B who took control and oversight Everything was delivered to plan however, if there is one quality that my husband and I would want to convey is that JQ went beyond the brief, they can be trusted to deliver your most precious gems. Would not hesitate in recommending them!!!!

Arrived at the station to photograph the Bansky picture. Team of volunteers working to keep the place neat and tidy. An ambassador for the area asked if he could help me - very knowledgeable person. There are guided tours but for me I'll be back in the summer to do my own thing. He gave me a heritage trail map and there are a number of small museums in the area but many historic buildings which you can miss if not checked out first. Good transport connections, bus, train and tram to Wolverhampton, Birmingham and West Midlands or you can walk from Birmingham City Centre. There is a Jewellery Quarter discount pass which will get you discounts at the museums in the area.

This area of my home town is easily accessible by train tram or bus as clean air charges and parking by street metres could work out expensive.
The choice and budget for all is large with street after street of small independent jewellers.
Plenty of places to grab a drink and lunch or dinner so gentlemen when you have spent more than you thought an ice cold beer is a must.
A safe area on the whole as plenty of security.
So if it’s Diamonds and gold your after one of the best places in the country to shop.

We read about the jewellery sector in Birmingham and decided to give it a visit. Only 15 minutes relatively easy walking from the centre of Birmingham it is easy to get to. It is fascinating to have so many jewellery shops in such a small area. Whilst we did not go into any of the shops the displays in shop windows were interesting and if you were wanting to buy some jewellery you got a good idea of what it looks like along with the price. Worth a visit on if the weather is pleasant and you have an hour to spare in Birmingham.

Went here 6 weeks ago, paid for our item .they said it would be with us in 3 to 4 weeks.
I rang them 2 weeks ago to ask when it would be ready they said a week to two weeks...
So today I rang them to only be told another 2 weeks .. that then will be a total of two months instead of 3 to 4 weeks.
Won't be using this store again.

A fifteen minute walk, from new street station. To what?
A museum a few shops and old streets where jewelry was made a century or two ago, now just a shell, old buildings little used, locked up and decaying, a few beggers in the street. And a clock tower, seen hundreds of clock towers.

Not at all as expected. Came across very few shops after walking in, yes, right area, thought there was supposed to be over a hundred shops. Some we did find werent open. Others looked intimidating, with blacked out windows, others had staff at the door trying to persuade you to come in.
The stores we did find did have a dazzling array of, mainly, rings, some watches.
We were looking for a ring of or containing rubies. Basically if you dont want a diamond I'd go else where. If you do want a diamond you better have a good idea what you want. The choice in the few shops we did see was mind blowing.
