Good gaming arcade. We visited due to having a good Groupon voucher and had a brilliant time. Good variety of games and loads of rewards to get in exchange for tickets!
As it's in resorts world, I would say to prepare for it being a bit busy. It was pretty crowded and a bit messy (people leaving empty cups on machines etc). But other than that, fantastic little place.

I don't know if its just the fact that we had a fantastic host but from start to finish Vortex were brilliant. From booking, ordering additional pizza (as we are vegetarian) instead of burgers and the actual party they fully ensured that we had value for money. Phoebe our host was amazing and really seemed to care that our little boy had a good time. For example, because it was a busy Saturday afternoon, and the VR was busy, they allowed all kids an extra half an hours play. They also allowed all parents and party members unlimited access to the VR. The food was lovely. good chips and amazing pizza. The fruit selection they provide includes raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. They also ensured we had a place to base ourselves during the additional half an hour. All the kids loved it. It is a little expensive however cuts out soooo much party stress.
They provide the party bags, and the birthday boy got his own backpack. Phoebe was brill and would definitely recommend!

If you use a Groupon you can get 2 people for 1 hour, unlimited plays on the arcade games for around £15. However, you don't win tickets. Otherwise you will have to buy tokens to play on machines with each machine costing 2-5 tokens.
Types of games include skiball, basketball, air hockey (modified version), racing games and shooting games. It's smaller than you think but you could spend 1-2 hours here easily.
I can see why the reviews say it's great for birthdays.

The establishment: It's ok for young kids Upton about 12, easily got bored after 30 minutes but that's probably due to us being used to a bigger establishment from where we live up north.
The card system is dodgy. We weren't fully informed on how it worked and on many occasions double tapped the card readers thinking we had to collect our points after playing by tapping.....but it automatically added points to the game, so what was happening was that we were tapping to play again.
The offers: We paid for 80 tickets to our point card but weren't told about the free drink refill.
The staff: When it came to redeem our points for prizes the 3 staff were more bothered talking to each other rather taking notice of its punters. Despite it just being me and my daughter we had to wait for the staff to stop talking in order to be noticed!! Unprofessional to say the least.
The prizes: Cheap tat that costs a fraction if you outright bought it yourself.
Verdict: Could be better if the staff could engage but overall 'Meh'

This was a groupon deal that I found, we wanted something to do with the kids when the weather wasn't so good. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a great deal. You use a contactless card to go around the machines and click on each to play using about 5 credits each time. £10 gets you 40 credits. If you are good at the games you earn tickets that are stored on your card then at the end you can exchange them for a small gift. We really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it.

Vortex made sure two excited seven year olds had a dream birthday party yesterday. It was well organised, with a brilliant host who was authoratitive when needed (excitement levels were high), made sure everyone knew what they were doing, and were having a great time. Happily, the buffet that included chips, pizza, burgers, cheese and pineapple and fruit (there was more - but those were the things I helped finish off 😊 ) was really good . At the end, the guets got a vortex water bottle, and the birthday boys got a cool backpack. Everyone also left with balloons. So yes, fab party. And actually, apart from eating, i did very little, so thanks to everyone at Vortex, especially our host.

We visited today and I never usually feel inclined to leave a review
However they exceeded my expectations with the covid pandemic in terms of hygiene.
The games were great my children had a wonderful time.
This trip was made more memorable by the man who looked after us. I didn't catch his name but I believe he might have been Spanish ( forgive me if this is wrong) he had long hair and was the most helpful, friendly person we could have wished for.
He made the experience what it was.

Had my sons 10th birthday there and they looked after us well, the party rooms are nice and everything is taken care of. This year they put effort into adapting to dietary needs and Shaun and Sigito went out of their way to help. Highly recommend this place.

Myself and 2 children (11 & 14) visited. As a one-off to see what this was all about Vortex Gaming is fine.
First off, all staff that I spoke to on arrival or for help with VR games or tokens etc really were super helpful and cheery, can’t praise them enough. Whole look of the place is great. Games-wise if you’re looking for a decent arcadey gaming experience then this isn’t it. There’s only half a dozen real arcade machines and the rest are ticket winning randomness. If you’re just looking to kill an hour and spend some cash for some tat then this is your bag.
VR stuff is cool but just ‘on rails’ and I was looking forward to the Pac Man air hockey table but it wasn’t there :-(
This place could really be a great half day or so out if they expanded & beefed up on the real gaming machines like an old school arcade.
Saying that, young kids will love it. Do what I did, grab that Groupon offer and try it out, I’m wearing the Hulk Hogan bandana that I used my tickets for right now.

Visited today for my sons birthday. The staff on arrival were so friendly and welcoming and made him feel really special. Huge thanks to the guys working this morning, you’ve made a 6 year old very happy!

Hi there, our VR spheres have a recommended minimum age of 7 years, and the Omni a minimum age of 12 years due to the height restrictions. However both are down to the parent or guardian's discretion and our crew will be happy to advise if you're unsure. Thank you!

I’d like to try out the zombie VR experience on the omni. How long does each gaming session last? Is there only one omni treadmill, or several? If you have several, would group games be possible? Cheers!

Hi! There are games in Vortex and in Pixel (on the lower ground floor) that are suitable for all ages. Pixel may be more suited to younger age groups. Enjoy your visit!
