Came across this brilliant pub, Stratford Ale House by chance and certainly wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and excellent ales. Very well worth popping in if your in the area. We need more of these independent places where staff/owners take a pride in doing the basics exceptionally well.

Was traveling from Scotland to the south of England, and had a night in Warwick, and while I knew of Stratford for Shakespeare, a long time ago I had saved all the best microbrew and independent craft beer bars that I had been recommended over the years.

To my joy, while sitting in my hotel room I noticed that the Stratford Alehouse was near by, so got my wife to drive me in to Stratford so I could go for a quiet pint at night before they closed.

Conveniently located right in the heart of Stratford, it is a great real Alehouse where you are sure of a warm welcome and a great pint.

Good prices and all in all I can see why this place has won awards and has the reputation it does.

This place is ideal for those who appreciate Real Ale. This is probably not going to be the right place for anyone looking for a traditional type of pub with food and lots of draft lagers. I have visited a few times, the latest have been in Covid restrictions. Never disappointed. The staff are friendly and attentive, the selection of beers is great. Highly recommended.

Staying just around the corner we called in mid afternoon and stayed longer than we planned. Great selection of beer, as you'd expect, lots of amazing fruited cider and some very tasty and unusual tonics to mix with gin. Welcoming bar man and a mix of locals and people like us who stumbled across it!
Would be 5* except for the TV, always find them a distraction even when muted and subtitles on.

Visited on a Sunny Saturday. Love this place great selection of ales and ciders. Hot day so a couple of different ciders for me. We sat out side in the sun. Details taken and cleaning done. Wish we were a bit more local.

We were staying in Stratford and heard about this craft beer place so had to visit. It did not disappoint. Great, different craft beers to enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere. What's not to like. If you love craft beers this is a great place to visit.

Small bar with four cask ales plus cans and bottles to drink in or take away. Can fill a two-pint plastic jug with cask ale to take away. Small selection but helpful service.

This is a small pub claiming to be a ‘micro pub’ what they are clearly not are a micro brewer or good cellarmen nor have any inkling of what customer service entail. Called in at 22.00 on a Wed, guy singing at the top of his voice, thought he was a karaoke king and was unaware of how bad he was. Ordered a beer recommended by the staff and it was warm, flat and virtually undrinkable. When I asked about it the short tubby middle aged owner started bawling and shouting to what was a very polite genuine question. They are cash only one visit merchants, steer clear, plenty more good cask ale providing pubs with a far better atmosphere, beer and staff.

Ah! The bad-tempered, slightly inebriated man who ordered a pint then realised that he didn’t have any cash. He declined to go to the cash point 100 yards away. He did actually have about £2.50 on him so I told him that he could have the beer at that price and bring the extra cash in another time. Considering he just walked out, how would he know that the beer was ‘warm, flat and virtually undrinkable’? Charity is clearly lost on individuals like this toxic character . .

What a find this was, as a lover of real ales we were in seventh heaven, small place serving a good selection of ales and ciders all from the barrel. Prices for the ales in this tourist area were very reasonable. We even had a carry out to keep us going, a genuine meeting place with nothing other than a good old chin wag with whoever you choose to talk too, closing times vary so get there early just to get your quota in. !!!
