The boat tour that you can do at the canal was awesome. It was very informative, provided with head sets so you can follow along with each stop and point. It was also very beautiful and relaxing to float along and see the various houses, greenery, and history in this town.

After exploring some of the town and visiting a few attractions, we walked down to the canal. There were a few live singers to entertain. We walked across a foot bridge to the other side of the canal which overlooked part of the town and the RSC theatre. Lovely wide pedestrian paths running parallel to the canal. We were heading... There is a very nice circular walk around the Avon starting at the RSC. Beware though because part of it can be quite muddy so boots required, but well worth it

The town seems to revolve around the canal and why not? It is certainly beautiful! The marina is well kept although empty on a cold winters day when we attended. Still a few boats and rowers to be seen where the canal meets the river and lovely for a walk along the banks

As it was November we virtually had the river boat to ourselves, only two other people on board. We enjoyed this little trip - not a long distance indeed, but very pretty. Fascinating going through locks and seeing how the gates open. Beautiful swans following boat hoping for good snacks.

Even in the Winter in the rain the walk is lovely. Lots of swans and the view is really nice. Lovely to get away after site seeing in the busy areas.

Always clean and lovely, the lockkeepers keep the place really clean and tidy. Great place to walk the dog.

Coming from the United States I couldn't believe how the canal dominates the city of Stratford-Upon-Avon. It runs right through the center of town and is just chock full of swans, geese, and ducks. It was a wonderful experience sitting on a bench by the canal and watching children and adults of all ages feeding the waterfowl.

I love summer in Stratford. Fish and chips and sit by the river, we even rented a boat with our 3 dogs last summer. The river festivals are great too. I would 100% recommend anyone visiting the area
