The river Avon passes through the gardens & there are a couple of river boat tours which are about 40 minutes long & quite reasonably priced, several stationary barges sell... More

IF you are in Stratford you will certainly be making your way to the gardens that is were all the action is and what lovely gardens they are . somewhere to sit and just people watch and get yourself some fish and chips no better pastime than to eat them in the open air, I could spend every weekend here... Spent the afternoon down in the gardens which was lovely as the sun was shining and it was full of families having fun everywhere. There was a local craft market on which was nice, steels drums playing and street food being served. There are boat cruises at just £6 each for a 40 minute cruise, there is the small chain... More

Plenty of grass to sit on, benches also. Plus deckchairs @ £3. Lovely Swan Fountain where kids like to paddle, Pokestops galore!!! Nice to watch the barges coming into Bancroft Basin through the lock. Nice setting between town & river.

The Bancroft Gardens are situated on the main town side of the River Avon, just in front of The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and take in the canal basin. At the side away from the Theatre is the Gower Memorial featuring The Bard overlooking four characters from his plays. On a sunny day there is nothing better than to sit in... More

I adore this park in Stratford. Located adjacent to the theatre and river it's hugely picturesque and a great place to relax and watch the works go bar. Ice cream available from qualified barge, chip shop across the road. very relaxing.
