Parking fee likely goes towards looking after work it takes and money spent on tools to keep the park in good order. Water birds still need feeding, parking areas still need to be looked after. People would be first to complain if car parks were in bad order.

Lovely park
Oct 2018 • Family
A lovely park at the top of the Jesmond Dene. Part of the ouseburn group of parks which is made up of five distinct parks.

There’s a lake, some play areas and nice spaces to enjoy with family and friends.

There are a number of accesses and a small pay and display car park is available too. This is just over the road from the Freeman hospital if you are visiting or need treatment.

Afternoon Walks
May 2018 • Family
Our son had heart surgery at Freeman’s Hospital. We don’t live near Newcastle so booked into a hotel so we could visit him afternoon and evening times. The park was wonderful between 4pm and 6pm for visiting. Enjoyed the ice cream shop and the walks. Never would of guessed you were in a city. Found the sound of the river and bird song relaxing.

A delightful walk on a winter's day

After a long day at the Freeman Hospital, it was wonderful to discover this lovely park. We walked along different paths, saw the water fall and stream, amazing trees as well as spring flowers peeping through. Must return in the Spring/Summer

Shouldnt have to pay to park
May 2017 • Family
Stopped off here after visiting a farm and a museum in Newcastle
Our little boy loved it and it was a lovely relaxing park, nice to walk in, kuds playground was great and lovely lake with ducks, ice cream shop by the lake too.
Only downfall was paying to park,
We come from boro and all parks we go too have free parking so we were a bit shocked but never mind we had a lovely day out.

Yet another fine example of Newcastle's many Victorian parks - Ducks, swans, swings remote control boats and a tasty ice cream shop.

Always a nice place to visit
Dec 2016 • Family
Great park for the kids , loads of things to mess about on , good ice cream shop if the weathers ok and when the guys are messing about with there remote control and wind powered boats on the pond its great as they are happy to talk about their hobby . It's huge and often has weekend teams playing football but there's always a space somewhere. Connects down to the dean and is directly opposite the freeman hospital .

My sons loves it here, only a 15 minute walk from our house. Perfect when the sun is out. Good for all ages.
