Music good, bar poor

We had a good night of music here but the drinks were poor and way overpriced. The cider seemed like apple juice!

Been here twice to see NOFX and Eagles of Death Metal. Both gigs I had a great time, sound was excellent both times and security good/nice. Signs up all over saying crowd surfers would be removed from venue but both times there were loads of people doing it, at the NOFX gig in particular and it was no problem. The... More

I took my Son to watch this event and the evening was very enjoyable. The door staff were organised, the event staff were readily available and helpful and the bars were well staffed and I though fairly reasonably priced for such a venue.

Shocking venue. Wait at the bar for 50 minutes for a ridiculously overpriced drink in a plastic glass and then struggle to hear the gig due to terrible sound quality. Won't be going back.

Disgusted with the price of drinks, take out a mortgage before you go!! Sound quality for comedian on Saturday night was pathetic! Never again will I go there and would advise others not to bother.

Went to see the comedian Jim Jefferies, booked seats upstairs. The place was boiling hot, people were sweating, it was awful. 1600 people and there was 4 staff behind the bar upstairs. It took 54 minutes to get served and the staff looked like they have never been behind a bar in their lives. The sound was horrendous, had to... More

Very, very poor. Comedy gig spoilt by people standing and talking throughout the gig. Security non existent. Sound quality terrible, too quiet and distorted. We waited 50 minutes at the bar before the show to get a drink. Awful, really disappointing.

I do love this place, great atmos for gigs, Specials and more recently Fun Lovin Criminals were perfect for the venue though the mic sound for the latter gig was poor - could hardly hear Huey's craic. And yes the loos are mingling too but the bar sfaff and drinjx chouce were great.

I will attend any concert at the O2 over the arena any day. It is a lovely intimate venue based in the centre of Newcastle. If I am paying X amount of funds to see an artist then I want to see the artist I am paying for and the Carling provides this. Yes you pay over the top for... More

Recently attended Bowling for soup gig here, the gig was good, apart from the bouncers not stopping circle pits and folk getting hurt, the toilets were rotten all you had to do was follow your nose to get there and i think £4.95 for a pint of guiness is a rip off even worse £3.25 for a pint of post...
