This was a good place to take a constitutional. It was leafy, green and pleasantly warm while my friends and I visited. We even saw a native red squirrel rather than the grey American invaders.

Heaton park runs from Shieldfield to Benton Bank where it joins Jesmond Dene making a long walk. There are many paths and hidden places to explore. There are play areas for the children. Well worth a visit.
